"What do you want to know?" Eliza asked, exhaling slowly. She closed her eyes for a moment, still lying on the broken ground.
"Everything," I answered in a flat, commanding tone.
But then my eyes moved to Alpha's body lying a short distance away under the rough cloth. The blood on her stomach had not stopped completely. Her pulse was still weak. I suddenly realized I could not waste any more time standing here. I had to get her out of this place and find someone who could heal her before it was too late.
"So basically… the Duat Society is the place where…" Eliza took a deep breath and started to explain.
"No. Wait. Not here," I said quickly. I turned my eyes away from Alpha and looked at Eliza, then glanced up at the dark sky filled with smoke. Without another word I started walking toward Alpha's body.
"Come. Follow me," I said without looking back at her.
