"Master Mu," Li Feng said quietly.
Mu Yunchen's eyes shifted slightly. Found him.
"Li Feng." His voice was rough, scraped raw. "Go back."
"Sir...."
"Go back to the waterfront." The words came out with effort, each one costing something. "Make sure they're still searching. Make sure...." His throat worked. "Even if it's just...."
He couldn't finish that sentence.
Li Feng understood what he was asking.
Even if it's just a body. Bring her back.
"They haven't stopped," Li Feng said. His own voice wasn't entirely steady. "Jin Boyuan and Tang Yuze have the entire coastline covered. Boats, divers, drones. They're not stopping."
Mu Yunchen's eyes closed briefly.
When they opened again, there was moisture at the corners, tiny crystalline drops that slid down toward his temples, catching the light as they fell.
"I need her back," he whispered. "I don't care how. I just need...." His voice broke completely. "I need to bring her home."
