Until now, the table had remained inactive.
Its broad surface was constructed from dark, polished stone, engraved with intricate geometric channels and ancient inscriptions. Several crystals were embedded at carefully arranged intervals around its perimeter, while the center contained an elaborate pattern of intersecting lines.
Sheila had noticed the table during their earlier visits, but its purpose had remained uncertain.
Now Quenivarius approached it with unmistakable excitement.
"I believe we've identified the function of this."
Sheila followed him.
Edith joined her on the opposite side.
The two Forgemastery assistants moved closer as well, their expressions revealing that they already knew something of what Quenivarius intended to demonstrate.
Sheila examined the engraved surface.
"What does it do?"
Quenivarius smiled.
"That is what I'd like to show you."
Edith gave him a measured look.
"You're enjoying this."
"Immensely."
Sheila laughed softly.
