Getting ideas for what could be added to this entertainment monster was the easy part. Actually implementing them was the hard part. While Moxxi had a mind full of creative ideas she was frankly lacking in the resources and constructive know how needed to make them real. It took more than money, you needed to jump through legal hoops and various other problems before you could even get started. At least for an official and legal gambling resort anyways. We talked about this of course as she obviously knew this.-
(3rd person POV Unknown Hyperion location)
Jack sat behind his desk looking over the reports piling in from across Pandora with a barely contained anger.
"Angel! How much has this slowed us down?" he demanded out loud.
"Thirty six point two percent. Three higher end facilities were over run by the Leagues forces." Angel said solemnly.
"Damnit! How dare he do this to me, ME!" Jack cursed angrily.
"I believe this is a preferable outcome to the alternative." Angel said seriously.
"What's that supposed to mean!?" he demanded with narrowed eyes.
"Given his track record he could have just as easily dismantled Hyperion itself or simply killed you. It truly does seem like this is only a warning as he said in light of that." Angel said frankly.
THAT caused a flicker of clarity to return to the enraged mans eyes as his brain actually thought about it. The more he thought about it the more a cold dread filled him as he realized how badly he'd almost fucked up. Just as Angel had said Alex could have if he really wanted to crushed Hyperion and killed him. As if that wasn't bad enough now he had to figure out how to get Alex back to at least being neutral.
He sighed a long and reluctant sigh "How do we fix...." he started when an alarm went off on his computer.
There on his screen he saw a security feed that showed a group of VERY familiar armored figures on Helios.
"How did they get past the defenses!?" he roared as he rapidly typed in the computer to try and overrun them with his forces.
"I've just looked over the scanners and security recordings. From what I can see they hid on a piece of space debris and used that to reach the station." Angel said seriously.
"How!? No wait where is ALEX right now!?" he demanded with a pit forming in his gut.
"According to our spies in Moxxi's bar. He's been in plain view this entire time apparently." Angel said with a confused tone.
"God damnit all! Roland must have used the racket from the league as a distraction to try and cripple the moonshot mechanism! I don't care what it costs don't let him reach it!" he yelled as he typed furiously.
(3rd person POV Helios station)
"BOOM!"
"Keep moving!" Roland yelled as an explosion rocked the area from the grenade just tossed.
If you were to rewind time to watch how everything unfolded you see that this mission had gone off without a single hitch so far. Being hurled through space and impacting the station had been unpleasant but no one was harmed as the barrier took the brunt of the forces involved. At first things moved in a stealthy manner as the group remained undetected for several minutes and made great progress into the station. Eventually though the security team discovered them and raised the alarms. After that the group had to fight through more and more enemies who were rushing from other parts of the station to stop them.-
Brick proved the best in this situation as he charged through the bots throwing punches that scrapped each bot struck. The few actual people with guns involved ended up in much worse states as they were splattered from not only his strength but also his special weapon. Thanks to him serving as a sort of battering ram the group hadn't stopped advancing towards the moonshot mechanism so far. He was so much of a distraction the rest of the group were able to destroy the enemies that weren't directly in the massive man's path since they were focused on him.-
For any sealed doors they encountered a grenade cleared the way and the fighting resumed.
"You all must think you're soooo clever don't cha? I admit using the chaos the league is causing to sneak into Helios is a good one, did not see this coming. But ya know I can just fix the damage right? So go ahead, take your temporary victory and lets be clear here, it IS temporary, I'll still wipe out all you filthy bandits eventually." Jack said over the echoes of the group.
"He's only trying to get under our skin, ignore him!" Roland called and the other yelled in acknowledgement and even seemed more fired up by the echo than anything.
Soon enough even with the resistance that the station was putting up Roland, Brick and the rest made it into the moonshot area and barred the doors from reinforcements using crates and broken bots.
"Set the charges while I get this thing ready to send us home!" Roland ordered and the others got to work.
Roland himself was working the controls of the moonshot to target the snowy area outside Sanctuary while a crate was loaded.
"This was fun! We should do this more often!" Brick said with a wide grin totally ignoring the cuts and bullet holes he'd picked up in the fight.
"Yeah, feels good sticking it to Jack after everything he's done. Just wished we could do more." Roland said slight regretful.
Brick shrugged "A wins a win." he said not caring one way or the other.
"Yeah it is." Roland said with a small smile.
One of the other walked up "charges set and timers started sir." they said seriously.
"Everyone in the crate! We're going home!" Roland ordered and he set the moonshot to send them in a minute so they crammed in the crate and deployed the barrier again.
The return trip was much worse than the original one to the station as there was no safety mechanisms in place for people in these crates. Entering Pandora's atmosphere and then crashing into the ground would likely have been fatal if not for Alex's barrier taking the brunt of the damage before finally winking out after the crate skid to a halt. The group piled out of the crate woozy and a few even threw up but they all survived at least.-
The charges went off shortly afterwards and even from the surface of Pandora the explosions could be seen and to Roland's surprise the entire station ended up getting blow in two. This as it turned out was due to a previously unknown design flaw in the station. The moonshot was set up in such a spot that when the charges detonated it caused catastrophic damage to this flaw that then cascaded into multiple parts of the station erupting and thus the station being split in two.-
All across Pandora this sight was seen and there was rampant celebration. Those bandits not otherwise busy immediately saw this as a sign of Hyperion's fall and rushed to raid various facilities as a result. In a location known to few though Jack himself was throwing things around his office in rage. Ironically his rage was now so focused on Roland and the resistance that it totally slipped his mind that alex was still on the planet and might even been responsible for this. As for Alex? He was just watching the fireworks while casually chatting with Moxxi and Scooter after the latter came to add to the conversation about the entertainment giant.
