Chapter 321 - Chapter 320 - Taking my son to the dungeon.

"You can go back to sleep if you want. I'll stay with our son for now," I said. I climbed onto the bed and sat beside Freya. Our son was still touching Freya's face, so I gently made him stop.

I picked him up and sat him on my lap.

"Thank you." Freya smiled with her eyes still closed, and soon after, she fell asleep. Her expression was very different from before. She was truly exhausted. I should have expected something like this to happen.

Babies use their mother's nutrients and energy to develop, and I created a baby who should have been born after eighteen months—in just a few seconds. All the children I have with a goddess will take eighteen months to be born.

Actually, I sped up Hestia's pregnancy a little without her knowing, cutting it in half. Her pregnancy will now last nine months.

What are we going to do now? I can't walk around with you in my arms like this. People would definitely ask if you're my son. And I don't think saying he's the child of a friend would work.

Even if it were a friend, would she really let me carry her newborn child around the city without her being present? Especially a baby this young.

Honestly, I just don't want to keep telling lies.

And if someone close to me sees me, it'll be hard to explain, since they know I don't have a friend who was pregnant and about to give birth.

I hugged my son close and activated my teleportation skill. My vision shifted, and in a single second, I was sitting on top of a building in the center of Orario. My son was startled by the sudden change.

His eyes widened, and he hugged me tightly.

I laughed softly and patted his head. "It's okay, you don't need to worry. Look, that over there is the Tower of Babel. Right below it is a dungeon full of monsters. Isn't that cool?"

My son's eyes sparkled. He understands everything I say.

"Dadadadadadada!" He tried to say something while grabbing my shirt and pulling on it. He suddenly became excited.

"What is it? Do you want to go to the tower?"

He shook his head.

"Do you want to go to the dungeon? Do you want to see monsters?"

"DADADADADADADA!" He got extremely excited.

"That's…" I smiled bitterly at him.

But the way he was looking at me… I couldn't bring myself to refuse his request.

I can protect him inside the dungeon, but if Freya finds out that I took him there, she'll be extremely angry.

"I'll take you to the dungeon, but you can't tell your mother about this, okay?"

He nodded.

"Alright. Get ready—we're going to teleport again."

####

I teleported us directly to the 20th floor, a floor that isn't very dangerous for me. In fact, considering my current status, I probably wouldn't have much trouble even if I went to the 30th floor alone.

As soon as we arrived on the 20th floor, the plants caught my son's attention.

These floors are basically a giant forest—a massive labyrinth filled with dangerous monsters, many of them poisonous.

I walked across the wooden "ground" while my son looked around in amazement. Even after twenty minutes, we weren't attacked even once.

"It's cool, isn't it? There are even more interesting floors further down. I think you'd really like it if you saw the waterfall that spans from the 25th to the 27th floor. It's very beautiful."

"Dadadada." He waved his little arms excitedly.

"You want to go there? Not today—another day. When you grow a little more, I'll take you there. I'll train you too."

He became even more excited when he heard that I would train him. So he understands even that.

I laughed and kept walking.

I tried to find a monster to show him.

After some time, I finally found one.

A very large beetle-type monster, bigger than a dog. "Mad Beetle."

My son stared at the monster. Is he scared?

Contrary to what I thought, he wasn't scared at all. When the beetle, which walked on two legs, noticed our presence and decided to attack us, he started laughing as if it were funny.

"You'd better be careful."

I was preparing to cast a spell to kill the Mad Beetle instantly, but before I could do so, something happened.

My son raised his small hand and, consciously, used magic.

Yes—a blade was created out of nothing, a blade made of iron. It looked very similar to a dagger.

The blade flew at high speed, so fast that a low- or mid-level adventurer probably wouldn't be able to follow it with their eyes. The blade emitted a strange light.

It pierced straight through the Mad Beetle's body, leaving a hole larger than my fist in its center. Then the monster turned into particles of light and vanished.

I stared at my son, unable to believe what had just happened. He looked back at me and then… "Dadadada… HAHAHA!" He tried to say something and then burst out laughing.

"This is… You have a skill? At such a young age? And you can use it this well…"

I think our son is more terrifying than we thought.

I wish I could see his status like I can see mine, but that's not possible.

But seriously, a Mad Beetle isn't a weak monster—and he killed it instantly.

He's still just a baby…

He's going to grow immensely stronger.

"At this rate, you'll become stronger than me," I joked.

"Hahahaha." My son laughed after hearing that, then said, "Papa, strong!"

"You never stop surprising me."
