After the man spoke, he fixed the other two with a piercing gaze.
The other two men, upon meeting his glare, didn't flinch or even show much of a reaction.
They remained silent for a good two or three minutes.
Finally, one of them said, "Who knows what this is all about? Those old bastards at the Patrol Bureau always have some unpredictable tricks up their sleeves!"
"It was probably just a slip-up!"
The moment he said this, the man who had spoken first slammed his hand on the table and roared, "Fuck!"
"What the hell are you talking about? How can you treat such a serious matter so lightly?!" he demanded. "Don't you realize what it means that she's still alive? It means our safe house has been exposed! If the Patrol Bureau gets serious and sends an Innate Grandmaster, we're all dead!"
"I really don't get how you can be so casual about this! Fuck!"
As he spoke, the atmosphere grew increasingly tense, and a combative air, thick with animosity, filled the room.
