Wei Anning was half-asleep when she heard the maid's voice. She jumped up immediately, her temples throbbing. Ever since entering the palace, she hadn't had a moment of peace.
She hurriedly followed the maid to the backyard where clothes were being dried and saw Night Shadow standing in front of a pile of bedding, arguing heatedly with a sharp-featured maid.
Wei Anning stood behind them and listened for a while, eventually understanding the situation. Night Shadow had brought the bedding to be dried, only to find that the quilts she had previously laid out had been pulled into the corner, out of the sun's reach.
And the spot where she had left her bedding was now occupied, with someone else drying clothes there.
Night Shadow argued with that person about the order of arrival, but the maid aggressively threw the quilt Night Shadow was holding onto the ground. Unsatisfied, she even stepped on it several times.
