Leng Youchen returned to the bedroom and pulled Wei Anning back into his arms. Still drowsy, Wei Anning was somewhat awakened by the coolness of his body, and she said hoarsely, "Did you go out?"
"Yeah, took a call."
"Is everything okay?" Wei Anning mumbled.
"Lu Feng got detained, it's not a big deal, don't worry," Leng Youchen said softly.
This scared Wei Anning wide awake, her eyes wide as she stared at Leng Youchen. "How did he get detained, what happened?"
Seeing her agitated, Leng Youchen regretted telling her. It disrupted her sleep, so he said, "He attacked a bank's firewall tonight and seemed to accidentally trigger an alarm. The police haven't found any evidence, and I need to bail him out. It's nothing serious; let him suffer one night as a lesson."
The way he said it so nonchalantly made it seem like it wasn't serious, so Wei Anning felt relieved. But then a thought occurred to her, and she asked, "Are you really not going to bail him out?"
