Following Griar's unfortunate encounter, things quickly escalated into the domain of the nearly unsustainable… Liebeln did his best to reinforce the seal, but unlike the creatures of The In-Between, the undead invaders were not easily discouraged by the presence of a wall, and there was little that could be done to create something capable of handling the assault of Lieutenant-ranked undeads alongside sizable amounts of troops.
There was an attempt to send life mist directly into the Great Realm, with the hope that, like how Griar's ability had been stripped away, their defensive items were also unable to function within The In-Between. Unfortunately, it did not seem to be very successful as the trespassers kept on coming, forcing several powerful livings to stand constant guards there despite the fact that Lieutenants were now also showing up outside of the barriers.
