Karna went around the island and found every one of his guild members sleeping near Mavis's grave. Unlike in the canon, where they were scattered onto different parts of the island, the modified spell made sure to keep them in the same place instead of scattering them.
Karna checked on each of them and found that they were sleeping due to the exhaustion from overexerting their magic, along with the physical fatigue of using emotions in their magic.
Combining emotions with magic turns it into its purest form; it strengthens magic to levels that emotionless magic can never reach. Zeref had come to this conclusion after researching for hundreds of years. He then taught it to Mavis, who created two magical spells that had reached the pinnacle of both attack and defense.
Fairy Law takes the caster's emotions of animosity toward his enemies as a catalyst to strengthen the attacking power of the spell, while Fairy Sphere uses the emotion of the caster to protect as a catalyst to create a barrier that transcends both time and space. Though unlike Fairy Law, which can only be used by a single caster, Fairy Sphere can be used by multiple casters as long as they consider each other true comrades.
Karna made sure to move everyone so that they could rest in a more comfortable position. He looked for Mavis but found that she had disappeared. He also noticed that the light from her grave had dimmed a bit compared to before.
'She must have expended a lot in constructing the Fairy Sphere spell. It will take some time for her to come back,' Karna thought as he began to wait for everyone else to wake up.
Within a few hours, each of the guild members woke up as they recovered some of the magic that they had expended.
The moment they did, they immediately moved toward Karna to make sure that he was alright. The last thing they remembered was Karna crashing onto the island after getting struck by Acnologia's attack.
Cana used her medical skills to check him for any lingering problems, but Karna assured her that he had used the Horse Talisman to heal himself after the fight.
"That was an excellent battle, if I say so myself, and from what I remember, Gildarts did not last even a single strike from that dragon," Makarov commented with a proud expression that surprised everyone around them.
They knew the dragon was strong from what they saw, but they never knew the dragon was so strong compared to the strongest of their guild.
"Wait a minute! That means if I beat Karna, I can be the strongest in the guild, right?!" Natsu suddenly shouted in excitement, earning sighs from many others.
"Why, you wanna go?" Karna asked with a smile. But Natsu immediately stepped back, sweat dripping from his brow. Every instinct he had told him not to do anything stupid right now.
"Ha… ha… you know what, let's not," Natsu replied with a nervous smile.
"So where are we right now?" Laxus asked while looking up at the sky that shone in a pale green color.
"We are currently in the time stream, traveling toward seven years into the future," Karna replied, earning surprise from everyone.
"This will be more than enough time for Acnologia to cool down so that he won't come after us when we get out," Karna calmly added.
"But how long does this travel to the future take?" Erza asked.
"Exactly one year," Karna replied with a smile.
"HUUUUUHHHHHH!!!!" everyone exclaimed in surprise at that information.
"Wait, that means Juvia can stay with Gray-sama for a whole year alone on this island." Then she turned to the other girls with a dark look. "As long as Juvia removes all the love rivals."
The girls immediately had fed-up looks on their faces at that threat.
"Wait, what are we supposed to do for one year on the island?" Gray asked, wanting to change the subject as fast as possible.
"Remember how helpless you guys were when you faced the dragon?" The moment he reminded them, all of them had serious expressions on their faces. Karna smiled, seeing their frustration.
"Good. For the next year, I'm going to make training plans for all of you to increase your power to face threats after the barrier opens up. And trust me when I say this—the opponents we have to face will be as strong as Hades, or maybe more," Karna warned as everyone's expressions turned serious.
"You think I'm afraid? Bring it on! I'm going to be so strong after the training that I will even be able to beat you up!" Natsu shouted.
"A manly man trains until he bleeds," Elfman commented from the side.
"You have no idea how strong I am, little brother," Laxus commented as lightning started flashing around him.
Clang!!
Gajeel smacked his steel arms as if agreeing with the others.
"We won't be helpless like last time," Erza commented while summoning the heavy training armor that she used to strengthen herself while practicing sword skills.
"Alright, make camp today. Your training starts tomorrow."
As everyone began making camp, Karna began planning the training he was going to put them through for the next year. He planned for them to become so strong that they would be able to beat their own versions who participated in the final war against Alvarez.
At the same time, Karna looked at his system.
"Do we have everything to complete our plan?" he asked.
[Yes, host. That crazy plan of yours can work with all the information you managed to get from Nirvana, Hades, and the personal calculations done while the system was boosted by the achievement Gilgamesh.
You will have to use up ninety-five percent of the ethernano crystals you have in your system storage. But if this succeeds, you won't need them anymore.]
"And from what I know, it takes ten months for it to complete—just enough time for me to start training after that," Karna said as he sensed everyone going to different parts of the island.
"Looks like it's time to start the training arc for Fairy Tail."
A/N — Hope you like it. (By the way, ideas are welcome for any creative ways they can use their magic on the island.)
