Valentine Teller's face was flushed as she glared coldly at Mark Reed: "If you keep talking nonsense, I won't bother with you anymore."
"Alright, alright, don't be mad, I was just joking with you!" Mark giggled and leaned back into the soft sofa cushion, letting out a leisurely sigh: "Life like this is too awesome!"
"I think you're a masochist; injured like this and still feeling good?" Valentine asked knowingly, looking at Mark with warmth in her heart.
"Having clothes handed to me and meals brought to me all day, plus having you by my side all the time—it's a life fit for a god!"
Mark even secretly hoped his injuries wouldn't heal too fast; wouldn't it be great if time stopped like this.
Valentine only smiled silently, drying Mark's feet, slipping on his slippers, and then taking the basin of foot-washing water away to dump it.
After nightfall, Mark loved to go to the courtyard to enjoy the breeze.
