The alpha hadn't been seen the whole day.
Not after the previous evening had had them watching the king and their alpha go at it with their words.
It had been the sigh that none of them had been comfortable with, but neither had voiced it because they trusted Alpha Park. Because Alpha Park was reasonable. Alpha Park was the one who had saved them one too many times.
But then Alpha Park had still not shown up, even to this moment.
It was another evening in Kiyoto.
Another day for the wolves to nurse their wounds from the ambush that had cost them more than they would've been able to make peace with. It had been a cruel season for them, no doubt, and there was no telling if they would ever heal from this.
They were currently seated at the general assembly around the largest bonfire that could ever have been prepared for everyone. It was their only way to cope at this point, but none of that would ever make their fears and hurt disappear.
