Chapter 96 - Catalyst for the Kaiser of Darkness

A few hours after the battle in Jaka City,

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Hundreds of footsteps were heard.

A legion of fiend army was walking in formation.

Instinctively, the people in town began panicking and getting out of the way.

A man and a Demi-human female fox walked in the road, escorted by the fiend army.

The man's right eye filled with fiery blue magical energy.

Thalamik and Momoka walked the streets of United Front slowly, reaching Grand Saint Veuz Headquarters.

In his arms, he held close the lifeless body of Illias.

All the people saw in the scenery was one thing.

Fear.

The Fiend Kaiser of Thalamik, in all his glory and power, shows himself to the public.

Some people know that he was from Vanguard Academy, a Hero Candidate.

But looking at him with his army doesn't seem right.

There's no way a hero would look like this.

Rather than praise, people stayed silent and did not even make eye contact with him.

As he finally reached the place.

His friends were waiting for him.

"Momoka, please stay here with them." He ordered in a hoarse voice as he walked towards the steps to Saint's HQ alone.

"Thalamik, let me." Trish reached her hand before.

PLAK!

A barrier formed around Thalamik's body. Making Trish unable to touch him as if the barrier had held her hand in place.

Thalamik ignored her words and climbed the staircase.

The people in the Saint HQ knowingly guided him to where Veuz resided.

There were no words, only understanding nods followed by a solemn face.

Thalamik finally entered a room where Veuz resided. She was sitting in a chair that looked like a working desk but also like a throne.

"Dear, Illias. You have worked so hard for our cause." Veuz rose from her seat as she hurriedly ran to Thalamik. With both their effort, Veuz and Thalamik set Illias' body down on a cotton surface above the carpet.

"Thank you for bringing her here. Thalamik."

"No Problem." He said before rising once more. Turning away from her, Thalamik walked back to where he came from.

"Did she have any last words?" Veuz asked.

"She said. Goodbye, Take Care." Thalamik said, walking away from her.

"From start to finish, she really is a pleasant person," Veuz said, smiling solemnly. "I can never thank you both enough for your efforts. I am sorry for everything."

Thalamik walked down the staircase where his friends were waiting.

"Carmilla, please follow me. I need to talk."

As both Carmilla and Thalamik walked to a quiet place, Thalamik asked her. "What is the secret of green mana?"

"It's to cut your own life force in exchange for performing a spell that is at the strongest level. Trading your own life force to perform a cheat skill."

"I see. So the moment where she fell, mana infusion or whatever it is that I do. It doesn't matter, right?"

Carmilla nodded.

"Why didn't you stop me?"

"I didn't want to tell you that it's all hopeless."

"Then why did you teach it to her?"

"That part..." Carmilla looked down. "I never knew she could perfect using it in a short time. Nor was I aware she was about to use it in that battle. I am sorry, Thalamik. I should've..."

"Haha..." Thalamik giggled. "Perhaps in the end, there's always someone who needs to die, huh? There's no way to defeat Raum without her sacrifice."

"I am sorry, Thalamik, it was-"

"It wasn't your fault, Carmilla. It was mine. I was the one who fought beside her."

TAP TAP TAP

"Sorry to interrupt, Kaiser. But Principal Celathis is asking to meet you this instant." Cobalt arrived and said.

"Carmilla," Thalamik said as she gave him a demonic core. "Let's go, Cobalt." As he walked, turning away from his friends, he said coldly. "Help the Saint prepare for Illias' burial. I'll join in shortly."

"Big Bro Thalamik... Are you okay?"

"I am okay, Besitulars."

"Are you sure? Thalamik, you have been acting..."

"I am fine, Lulu. I need to go." He said before walking to the Vanguard Academy along with his army of fiends.

Arriving at the academy, people move out of his way in fear.

Cobalt opens a door to reveal Celathis' office.

"Here is our MVP for today. Congratulations on your win against Demon Lord Envoy Raum." Celathis greets Thalamik; on her sides are the directors inside the campus.

"Thank you, Vice Principal."

"After your feat today, I will soon be a principal in this academy. Thank you for your effort." Celathis spoke. "I believe you haven't met our Directors. Director Loval of The Demi Human, Director Yu of the Spiritfolk, and Director Tels of Fey."

Thalamik's eyes twitched before asking, "Where is the Director of Humanity?"

Celathis looked at the other directors before laughing loudly.

"This Special Auditor certainly knows how to jest! The seat for Director of Humanity has been empty for as long as I can remember!"

Thalamik clenched his fists, "I see, so that is how it is, huh?" His eyes went fiery.

"Never mind that human. Please give it to me. The Demonic Core of Raum."

So this is what is all about...

Not sending reinforcement troops...

Holding Carmilla back...

Letting my friend die...

Focusing only on the survival of people in luxury...

People of higher-ups and status...

Staying inside a safe distance without any risks...

Making Diko suddenly missing from action...

Not caring about Illias' death.

Wanting only the demonic core that they haven't seized since day 1.

This is what it's all about...

A bunch of fucking....

"Hahaha." Thalamik giggled before revealing the demonic core, which looked like an orb that was sealed. "You all want this, right?"

Celathis' face was excited as she smiled, standing up and walking towards Thalamik.

"Here you go!" Thalamik, with a smile, tossed it towards Celathis as she looked up, trying to catch it in the air.

A bunch of fucking hyenas that deserve to fucking die.

SHURST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thalamik pushed his fists as blood splattered everywhere.

BUK!

Celathis fell to the ground with blood covering her face. "Wh-wh-What is the meaning of this?"

Thalamik had aimed to kill Celathis in that instant.

But Cobalt stepped between him and Celathis, resulting in Thalamik stabbing through Cobalt's stomach with his bare fist.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, SPECIAL AUDITOR THALAMIK???" Celathis screamed.

Thalamik pulled back his hand from the hole he had created on Cobalt's body. At the same time, Cobalt's body fell to the ground as it still bled out. Thalamik was standing with blood in his right hand.

Thalamik giggled before locking his eyes to Celathis, saying, "Bathe in sorrow, you pigs. My tomorrow will be built upon your flesh." Thalamik nudged closer to Celathis as he put his hand on her cheek.

An image of Zuatha Il Zikmel appeared in his mind.

"Soon we'll have you destroyed. I will slay the last of your kind and reclaim what's rightfully mine." He spoke with crazed eyes filled with fiery magical energy.

No one spoke anymore.

Celathis let out tears and shivered as her face was decorated with the blood of Cobalt.

Thalamik let her go before looking at the other directors and exiting the room.

That was the moment the Kaiser had been reborn.

With everyone knowing who he really is and how terrifying he really is.

He was no longer known only as the Fiend Kaiser.

But as The Kaiser of Darkness.

"You are kidding. This must be a joke!"

"It's no joke, Raymed."

"Carmilla, there's no way I was gone for more than a whole month!"

"But you did, Raymed. It has been exactly 1 month since the resolution of the war in South Jaka City. 1 month since the defeat of Raumstar."

"This is a lot to take in." Raymed shook his head.

1 month after the battle in South Jaka, Carmilla, with the guidance of Morgwyn, finally found Raymed's location in the Bermuda Triangle inside a Dimensional Field that tampers with time. Due to being inside, Raymed and Derashina had skipped for more than 1 month.

Now the three were on a ship heading back to United Front.

"Miss Carmilla! What about the mermaid kingdom?" Derashina asked.

Carmilla then explained that after exposing Raum, the mermaid kingdom aided the Indonexta army in fighting the rest of the Leviathans. The Prince of Mermaid Kingdom was fine, as Momoka was instructed to help everyone so there would be no casualties. But it seemed the Leviathan Race was beyond help at the time of war. Now, only those who didn't participate in the war survived, which was the women and children left behind in their region.

"Carmilla, what about Jaka City and Thalamik?"

"Most of the people in Jaka City were already relocated. Your family has been transferred to the United Front region per Thalamik's request. Currently, United Front is helping everyone in rebuilding the city. As for Thalamik..."

"He was banned from ever entering Indonexta again."

"WHAT?" Raymed asked. "But didn't he save it?"

"He made a promise that there will be no casualties from our side. But that wasn't fulfilled."

"I see, so how many were the casualties?"

"One person. That person was... Illias."

Raymed and Derashina widened their eyes in shock.

"Carmilla... you can't be serious, right?"

Carmilla's expression turns to a frown. "I am sorry, Raymed. Illias didn't make it." She shook her head before saying, "To be honest, no one is taking it well. Trish, Lulu, Besitulars, Dwargo, Killiar, and especially Thalamik."

"This is bullshit. Thalamik tried so hard, but why would Indonexta ever ban him from that country?"

"It's not that people don't recognize his feat. The government knows very well how much he sacrificed to protect the country. But, there's the public opinion. No person in Indonexta would be able to see Thalamik and not fear for their lives."

Raymed clenched his fist.

"The government had no choice but to ban him from the country until public opinion died down."

"This can't be happening!"

Carmilla then explained what Thalamik did to the Vanguard Academy and what the public opinion of the United Front was about him.

"Bravo. Things have been playing out well! My great Demon King is really the smartest! I, who hold the title of Rank 1, have never thought this would unfold!"

"Great Demon King! Did things really go out as planned?"

"Asmodeus, are you really asking that?! Even I, Paimon, understood what the plan would look like?"

"Please explain to me then, Paimon."

"Gladly... our lord from the start wasn't aiming to win. He was aiming to isolate the forces. But also raising the Hero and Kaiser to grow in the intended direction of strength."

"I see! As expected of our Demon King. But why let Raum die?"

"It was necessary, since if it weren't for her. The Kaiser of Darkness wouldn't have been materialized. It was all thanks to the death of that worthless Saint that this would have happened. She really is a great catalyst."

"As expected from my Demon King!"

"Everything is going perfectly as he intended. We only need to heed his command."
