Her mom couldn't do anything herself she needed her help,
Mariah saw her daughters pain
"My dear, today is your graduation day, go when you come back I will make all your favorite things" she said

Lena left home happy and came home with that happy smile but it all faded
"My dear daughter I am sorry I wasn't able to give you the life you deserve, I am sorry for not being a good mother to you. I am sorry for what I am about to do, I can't see you hurt, I can't be a bother to you anymore. I am sorry for the future I have given you. It hurts that I can't do anything and all I have now is my apologies I hope you forgive me one day"
She was lying lifeless when she returned home
She cried out the whole day
"This was supposed to be my happy day, why did you have to leave me you were never a bother to me" she cried out"
Jonas had gone abroad when those things happened and returned to see them in that condition,
"It had been three days since I saw Lena and her mom, so I visited her and I saw a girl lying almost lifeless I rushed her to the hospital, she was alone in the cold nights and only her shadow accompanied her, her mom was dead and she seemed to have starved herself, maybe she didn't want to live"
"Why didn't you call me?" Jonas said but she was silent
"Lena , your father and I were always looking out for the life outside school we were with so much excitement we had hope for the future and when he married your mother he had so many things he wanted to do, he welcomed his little princess and planned a whole lot for her"
Jonas told her about her father's plan for her
"Don't give up at least live for your parents dreams for you"
"I gave a glimpse of hope to live and she live but sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing because she suffered more and I couldn't do much"
On her mother's funeral day, Don's men came there to tell her she was going to pay for her mom's debt
"If your mom thinks dying will clear her debts then she's wrong, you're going to pay and don't think about dying also because I won't let that happen, I will pull you back every time you try to die. Your mom was such a cheat and a liar" Don said

"Yes she was, she wanted to cheat me by pretending not to remember me the last time I saw her"

"I don't care whether it's true or not I just want my money if you want me to see your parents in a different way then get me my money, I am sure she kept some for your future thinking she was going to die and everything was going to be okay"

Lena, She went back to where they lived and stayed there she had no where to go.
Lena was 15 then I wanted to take her with me but she was adamant to leave the place that was once a happy home, she said that place makes her feel closer to her parents. Slowly I noticed something about her she was forgetful of some important things and she would always get scared and panic over little things, I took her to the doctor and it had to do with her mental health, he said it was her anxiety she didn't want to forget her parents and their moments, her memory was stuck at when her parents were alive she tends to forget some important things that happened the next day because she was also living in the past. She remembers her parents and what happened to them
I asked her to forget and moved on
"How can I forget when it haunts me every night I close my eyes, when I was there, when they were abandoned and went through so much pain how can I forget when it's all my mind thinks about even when I don't want to, every time I close my eyes all the bad memories comes to mind, I want to forget but I can't no matter how hard I try" she said
"She was just a child for her to be talking like this so I got worried about her, I kept an eye on her every single time, to help her with this phase and she got better and I was a little at ease
