Liam Summer walked out of the restaurant and saw Aldana Candi curled up on the sofa, looking a bit listless. He approached her and asked gently, "What's wrong? You don't look so good."
Aldana Candi sat up straight, placed the menu on the coffee table, and shook her head, "It's nothing."
Liam Summer looked down at her, "Did Andrew bully you again?"
"No. I'm just a little tired." She lowered her head and stood up from the sofa, "Can I go sleep on the bed for a while?"
Her face was a bit pale, and she did seem genuinely exhausted.
Liam Summer stepped aside, "Go ahead and sleep. If you're too tired, don't worry about cooking dinner tonight."
Aldana Candi shook her head, "I have to."
This was the only role she had to stay here.
She knew that to receive someone's protection, there had to be some kind of price to pay.
Just like before with Eric Candi.
The things she received were equivalent to what she lost.
