Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 157 - Fear
Right in front of Devan, there was a gigantic mole lizard hybrid creature. With sound being the way he lived, he couldn't imagine living without it, and lizards, those were just creepy. Devan thought that living like that would feel so uncomfortable, like being trapped in your own body. His dance room was still in effect and he knew that sound could still work on the creature in front of him, after all, all sound was vibrations. More than that, the type of sound that he created was formed by Quison, not actual soundswaves, so no matter if they were in a vacuum or not, he would have the ability to use sound.
He found the frequency of his opponent in front of him, when he tried to turn on his powers however, they wouldn't activate properly, as if he was deaf to his own noise. He started freaking out but then calmed down. If there's no sound outside, then I'll have to create my own thoughts of music instead. He started imagining the music in his mind.
The creature in front of him moved so fast that it totally caught Devan off guard but Devan flowed to the side and dodged it as if he was water moving in an ocean. He slammed his boombox against the creature in front of him. The ribs on it cracked in an instant. Suddenly, there were spikes from the beast on his side, he pulled them out, gripped hard and swung his arm to the side, waving the beast around like a children's toy. He then threw the monster into the air and jumped right up to it and slammed his boombox straight into the head of the mole monster, breaking the skull and brain of the creature instantly. As he stopped and looked around, he noticed more of the same creature surrounding him…
Andrea was trying to fire off her PAR but it wouldn't budge, the creature in front of her was jamming it somehow with some kind of force. Andrea started panicking, the being in front of her was a being made entirely of metal and circuitry.
(Circuitry should never mimic life.)
As one of her core beliefs, she knew that she shouldn't try to create things that could think, act and develop by themselves. She knew just how terrifying technology could be just by creating a bunch of it. She knew that one day robots could take out humanity without a second thought if it was ordered and there were enough of them.
With a thought, she reconfigured her PAR in the shape of a giant hammer. If she couldn't use her normal strategy of accelerated plasma bolts, then blunt damage was going to have to do. Being as smart as she was came with an understanding, if you wanted to be strong, you couldn't just focus on the aspect of technological advancement, you need physical and spiritual strength to fight against your foes as well.
She dashed at the machine in front of her and slammed down her hammer but the machine dodged the hammer and went right to her side, launching a punch. Andrea tried to block the punch but it instantly activated thrust and changed its motion instantly to a spinning elbow, landing square on her chin KABOOM. She was sent flying into the wall of the Dance room that wasn't working properly. The wall didn't crack or break at all, it went from a helpful arena to a prison. Andrea dashed back at the robot and realized that every attack she did was either perfectly blocked or understood at a glance. This was what scared her the most about robots, their adaptability to situations. A punch would be countered, a hammer strike would be blocked, she just couldn't do anything as she flailed around her highly trained skills to fend off against the threat in front of her.
