… Devan was flying through space with Andrea, surprised that her technology adapted to this world so fast, her weapon, her PAR, was especially dangerous. It was somehow customizable as well.
Devan spoke to her ,"So I've been meaning to ask, how exactly does your weapon work? Do you need components to swap out or do you just will your weapon to change specifications."
Andrea answered ,"It can actually be done both ways, somehow whatever I add gets converted into soul steel, however there is a limit to how much I can change. Alternatively, I can change what's there of it with my own will."
Devan spoke again ,"Maybe you could fix up my boombox and we could go somewhere?"
Andrea rolled her eyes ,"You're flirting isn't that good."
Devan smiled ,"I know, but you're responding so I'd say that's progress."
Andrea looked at him and then ahead ,"That's the demon we have to take down, from my information reading her name is Fear."
Devan and Andrea stopped moving, Devan summoned his boombox. Standing in front of the heaps of power was a lot, especially for Andrea, but luckily, her barrier building technology was working wonders, she even was able to augment her own body with modifications in order to further amplify the effectiveness of her arts.
Devan's afro used to be black but now it was gray in color, growing closer to the color of his aura, it was a lot more pronounced than before.
Fear was crying, covered in barrier after barrier, there was no way of most people getting through, except they weren't most people.
The sound all around them stopped and everything grew quiet, Andrea looked over at Devan.
Devan spoke ,"I've been training for a while on my own and my soul decided to enter my work, let's show you what I've been able to do."
All around them a giant dance room was formed in an instant, his boombox was glowing with an ethereal glow, everyone was stuck to the ground, unable to fly. The floor was in tiles, each shining with a different color every second.
Devan said ,"Time to play my favorite song."
Boogie Wonderland started to play and he started stepping backwards and forwards to the beat, Andrea was so shocked by what was happening that she didn't know what to do. She tried shooting but was unable to.
Devan smirked and looked over ,"In this Dance Room, you can only strike on beat, so be aware of that."
Andrea sighed ,"Are you serious."
As Andrea started recalibrating her equipment to be able to only shoot on beat, she had to dodge a blade that shot across the dance floor. Devan had many Quison Blades traveling in his direction but he dropped to his back and started dodging every single one of them with efficiency, spinning on his head, he was even getting closer to fear with each movement.
Devan said ,"In this room, the more you get into the groove, the more damage you do. In fact, the last beat of every bar deals even more damage. You best have the rhythm, because if you don't, you'll be killed."
Devan sidestepped, dodging a blow, slid on the floor and jumped in the air, blocking all the incoming damage on beat (1 2 3 and 4).
Fear screamed ,"Get away from me."
The space in between them stretched, making it harder and harder to get closer to her. Andrea's Plasma Accelerating Rifle began burgeoning with energy as it shot through space and pierced the barrier, the bullet seemed to ignore the spatial and temporal distortions in the air, hitting Fear straight through the arm.
Fear's body started shivering as she noticed the damage.
She screamed ,"IT HURTS, IT HURTS."
Then, something strange happened, their vision shifted, and what they saw made them tremble.
