Vadim PoV
Reginald held his hand at me. "So? Will you join me? Or perish here with your friends and family?"
"How many times must I refuse you offer for you to understand? I won't join you now nor ever!" I yelled.
The eye behind his eyepatch released a red light. "Oh? I foresee your reincarnation working alongside me. A dutiful young man. Sadly he isn't my son."
I gritted my teeth as he blocked the incoming attack from the girls with a wave of his right hand.
He didn't even look at them as they were blown back by the downdraft. His eye remained pinned on me, heavy with that strange, detached pity.
"You cling to this crumbling world with futility, my calf. Amelia could've lived if you accepted my offer back in the Abyss. You and your children still have a chance, though. Break the cycle of agony from your past lives. Step into the dark, Vadim. Let the light be devoured, and I will carve a world where neither death nor destiny can ever touch what belongs to you again."
