Reality was Fragile
I was surprised by the dress Dafa sent me.
He hadn't said a word beforehand. No message. No warning. And these past days, my mind had been entirely elsewhere, measuring roots, boiling syrups, checking to Lilith breathe through the night. There had been no space left in me for gifts.
The delivery came in the afternoon. A small box, modest in size but unmistakably careful. Glossy white paper. A silver ribbon tied with quiet precision. It looked… intentional.
Lilith saw it first.
Her eyes lit up for half a second before she checked the label. Then the light went out.
Then she gave it to me.
The box felt suddenly heavier in my hands.
I hadn't even seen it when she spoke again, the words sharp enough to cut through the room.
"You already have a future husband," Lilith snapped. "So why are you still chasing Lev?"
The air froze.
