As she watched the man disappear in the rearview mirror, Tina Hernandez felt a sense of calm. She knew that one day, her marriage with Lucas Hutt would come to an end, and they would eventually become strangers to each other.
There was no doubt about that.
After leaving home, Lucas didn't know where to go.
He felt as if his life had reached a crossroads. Things had developed the way he had wanted them to, but he wasn't as happy as he'd thought he would be. He even didn't know why he felt so melancholic and joyless.
When he parked the car at the new residence, he found it absurd.
Half an hour later, he went to Flynn Taylor's apartment.
He thought seeing Flynn would clear his confusion, but upon seeing him, he realized he felt even more lost.
"Why do you look like you've lost your soul? Did it rain outside? You're all wet," Flynn said to Lucas with concern as soon as he saw him.
Lucas grabbed his wrist, opened his mouth, wanting to say something.
