"Ah!"
Linoshi couldn't help but let out a startled cry, her body trembling violently.
Her hand covered her mouth, her eyes went wide and round, and her cheeks instantly turned beet red.
The entire cinema fell silent in an instant.
The music on the screen seemed to pause for a moment as several couples around them turned their heads, their gazes landing on Linoshi.
"Rez... we're in a cinema... rubbing feet?" Linoshi asked with a flushed face and a look of bashfulness, her voice kept extremely low, as faint as the buzzing of a mosquito.
Her fingers gripped the hem of her Battle Suit, her rubbing becoming a bit more forceful.
"I just wanted you to relax a bit." Rez didn't feel embarrassed at all; he chuckled, his mouth curling into a grin that revealed a row of white teeth.
"Is this... appropriate?" Linoshi felt a bit self-conscious, her eyes downcast, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
After all, there were many people in the cinema.
As she spoke, she lifted her head and looked around.
This look only made Linoshi's face turn even redder.
Her eyes widened suddenly, her mouth hung slightly open, and her entire body stiffened.
Because in the eight seats surrounding them—front, back, left, and right—sat four couples.
These four couples were each more excessive than the last.
Some were huddled together, some had their heads leaning against each other, and some had their hands in places she couldn't even guess.
Linoshi was too embarrassed to keep looking, yet she still stole a few more glances before biting her lower lip hard, her fingers gripping even tighter.
To Linoshi, Rez rubbing her feet felt like a very civilized act in comparison.
"How about... we try it too?" Rez pointed at the couple in front of them, a mischievous smile playing on his lips and a glint of cunning in his eyes.
"Huh?" Linoshi's lip twitched slightly, a flash of panic appearing in her blue eyes. She hurriedly waved her hands, her fingers fluttering in the air as her voice softened even more. "I... I don't know how..."
"If you don't know, you can learn, right?" Rez slowly leaned closer, a smile on his face as his gaze fell upon her reddened cheeks.
His body leaned forward slightly, the distance between them shrinking more and more.
"No... this... it won't do..." Linoshi became even more flustered. Watching Rez approach, her eyes widened further and her breathing quickened.
Her body suddenly recoiled, and then with a flicker, she vanished from the spot instantly.
There was no afterimage, no trajectory, and not even a ripple in the air.
Smack!
Caught off guard, Rez's lips landed on the cheek of the woman in the adjacent seat.
It felt warm to the touch and carried a strong scent of makeup.
"Ah! What are you doing?" the woman cried out, recoiling sharply and covering the kissed cheek with both hands, her eyes wide and round.
The woman's boyfriend didn't know what had happened; he shuddered and quickly turned his head to look around.
After all, it was pitch black, and his attention had been fixed on the screen, so he hadn't noticed the situation beside him.
"He, he, he... he kissed me!" the woman cried out again, pointing her finger at Rez, her voice filled with anger and grievance.
"Pah! Pah!"
Rez quickly spat twice, his brow furrowed into a knot, his lip twitching as he wiped his mouth with his hand.
That taste was really something else.
"You... what do you mean by that?" The woman was furious, her eyes bulging and her cheeks puffing out.
She stood up, hands on her hips, her chin slightly raised.
Why do I feel like you think I'm dirty or something?
Rez ignored her, immediately scanning the surroundings. His gaze swept through the theater again and again, searching everywhere for Linoshi.
How did she just vanish in a flash?
"Eh? Where's your girlfriend?" The woman also sensed something was off; her anger softened a bit, replaced by confusion.
She followed Rez's gaze and looked around, then turned back to look at him.
Rez ignored her and immediately stood up, his steps hurried as he left the cinema in a few strides.
His figure disappeared through the theater doors, leaving the couple staring at each other in bewilderment.
However, Rez searched the vicinity but couldn't find any sign of Linoshi.
His gaze swept over the mall's lobby, corridors, and elevator entrances, not missing a single corner.
He walked outside the mall, stood in the plaza, looked up at the night sky, and then down at the crowds of people.
Furthermore, Linoshi had completely masked her human-like ki.
With Rez's current sensing abilities, he couldn't detect her location at all.
His perception spread out like an invisible net, yet he couldn't catch even a hint of her presence.
Rez felt a massive headache coming on and slapped his forehead with his palm.
What's going on?
I only tried to do what any man would want to do, and I hadn't even succeeded yet.
And now my girlfriend has run off!
No, wait... if you didn't agree, why did you let me hold your hand?
And let me rub your feet?
Rez was a bit puzzled, his brow furrowed into a knot as he rubbed his chin.
He let out a soft sigh, scanned the street, and then walked into a small convenience store.
He bought a pack of cigarettes, tore open the packaging, pulled one out and put it in his mouth, then took a lighter from his pocket and lit it with a click.
He took a deep drag, smoke billowing from his nose and slowly dispersing in the night breeze.
He had smoked this stuff quite a bit in his previous life.
But in this life, after transmigrating as a Saiyan, Rez had never touched them again.
Now, it felt a bit harsh on his throat; the smoke left a burning sensation as it passed through, making him squint slightly.
After all, it had been a long time since he last smoked.
Just as Rez finished a cigarette, he caught sight of Linoshi standing in a nearby corner.
Her figure was hidden in the shadow of a pillar, her hands hanging at her sides, her head bowed, and the tip of her foot tracing light circles on the ground.
Rez's eyes lit up, and he hurried over, his pace quickening.
He stood before Linoshi and looked down at her.
"Why did you leave without saying anything?" Rez asked.
"I... I just... just..." Linoshi blushed, spinning on the tip of her foot as she drew circle after circle on the tiles, her fingers rubbing the hem of her Battle Suit over and over again.
"Since you don't like it, I won't do that to you again," Rez said solemnly, his gaze fixed on her face with a hint of seriousness.
"I... it's not that I don't like it... I'm just not yet..." Linoshi answered quickly, her voice trailing off until it was almost inaudible.
Her head hung even lower, her chin almost touching her chest, her earlobes so red they looked like they might bleed.
"You're just what?" Rez didn't hear clearly; he leaned forward slightly, bringing his ear closer.
"Not ready..." Linoshi blushed again, looking like she wanted to bury her head in her chest. Her voice was as faint as a mosquito's buzz, nearly lost in the wind.
