As the mo fang disappeared into the distance, his small figure weaving through the crowd of marketers, his voice echoed back.

"sorry grandma Lin... I will bring you some fishes tomorrow" without further ado mo fang left the market area, leaving song Chen to receive the furious lashing and anger of the old lady.

"don't even think about it stinky no" the granny berated angrily as she waved her arms furiously.

"grandma lin.. don't worry I will for that stinky bastard and teach him a lesson for you" taking the opportunity to free himself from the old woman's grip, song Chan assured the angry granny.

"get back here song Chan" briskly going after him grandma Lin shouted transferring her aggression onto him.

"so you are the bastard who had been, feeding the fine young man with bad and nasty ideas"

"yes granny lou… he is the one"

"don't allow him to get away…"

"...get him" the crowd began jeering at Mr song's series of misfortune, adding oil to the fire, as some even move in to catch him.

"damn you all" angrily song Chen increased his pacing of walking away.

"grandma Lin, I don't feed him with any strange ideas" song Chan protested against the old woman's insistence.

"it is his own ideas, that guy is a spoilt brat"

"whose idea did you say it is" grandma Lin bellowed angrily at him before he could finish his statement.

"are you saying that Su Yan and his wife don't make a good job raising him up"

Seemingly realizing that he have pissed her off again, song Chen could only shrugged his shoulder as he ran back to his stall still denying her.

"sorry grandma Lin, that is not what I mean, but don't worry I would definitely punish that boy for you"

"who asked you to punish him" the old woman hollered back.

"and get back here Chen, I am not done with you yet."

Grandma Lin was one of the oldest person still living in golden sun village, as most of the other old people have move to the town, to leave there with their children. As one of the oldest fellow who refuses to move out of her birth place to the capital, almost everyone one in the village held sparks of respect for the old lady.

Since after the death of her husband, all her children have went to the city to occupy residence their, while she remain in the golden sun village selling see food and raising vegetable in her little backyard.

She was few among the elderly people in the village who adore and doted on mo fang, after the old couple su yang and his wife passed away in the storm. Who she share the same neighbourhood with, and also friend s with old su wife whom they both grow and raised up in the same village.

Despite being over the age of 80 years old, grandma Lin still look fit and retain the strength of a middle aged lady in her fifties.

Grandma Lin was said to have hailed from the family of a traditional Chinese medical practitioners, most of the villagers regard her as a living legend.

"ayy.."

"i never thought I would meet grandma Lin in her stall today" mo fang lamented at his misfortune, as it was always the granny's granddaughter Lin Haushen, that usually stay in the stall and mostly in the morning hour.

As the sun raised from the east, mo fan sat in his brown shorts and a sleeveless shirt on a piece of large rock muttering to himself while gazing at the vast ocean in his front.

"i will definitely make a catch today"

"father in heaven, blessed me today so that I can make a good catch" raising his hand up to the sky, mo fang silently prayed.

Beneath the rock he was sitting on lay a large calabash and a folded fishing net which have become old and torn. The metal hook and handle of his fishing rod are all ready rusting and scrapping of.

"hehe… guess old man song would be in for a serious nagging and scolding" thinking back to the earlier occurrence today, mo fang grinned sheepishly as he covered his mouth with his two hands, as he squinted his eyes gazing at the rising and falling tide of the golden colored ocean.

The surface of the ocean has become tainted in golden hue, from the sunlight rays producing a vast and endless view of golden surface, a beautiful and rare sight disturbed by the usual movement of fishermen on the sea.

"wish the hell are you thinking and giggling foolishly about brat?" a middle a aged man with a trimmed short walked up to him and ramped his knuckle on mo fang head.

"Ayaa" mo fang screamed, clutching his head while jumping in fright from the abrupt interruption in his thought.

"uncle jay, I have been waiting for you all this while to come" recognizing the middle aged man, as the uncle next door to where he lives and also the one whom he always went out fishing with. Mo fang seed in frustration while rubbing his aching head.

"what?, have you committed another one of your mischief again" Mr jay asked raising his brow as he look at him up and down in a disbelieving manner.

"nope!" shaking his head, mo fang denied.

"i have been here, waiting for you to come so that we can go fishing"

"uncle jay what can I help you with?" bringing out his hand forward, mo fang asked in anticipation.

"don't worry, song Bai and Sam would soon be here to do the work" shaking his head the man walked towards a fishing boat ducked close to the large rock, which mo fang was sitting on.

"hmmm.. " mo fang nodded coming down from his sitting position as he went up to his fishing tools and ran past my jay before dumping everything at the corner of the fishing boat, as he patiently wait for the man to board on to the ship.

"hey mo fan….." looking amused at the things mo fang had placed inside the boat Mr. Jay asked

"what are you trying to do, with all these worn out fishing tools?"

"uncle jay… today I will definitely catch something big" mo fan replied as he drag the old fishing net, into the boat while thumping his chest in assurance.

"huh… who is going to take you into the sea?"

"uncle jay… don't do these…. I have been here waiting for your glorious arrival since morning" mo fang replied

"sigh!" shaking his head in disapproval, Mr jay looked at mo fang's expecting face and said.

"mo fang, I have told you several times you have no luck with fishing"

"and beside with all these worn out fishing net and rusted hooks how are you going to make a catch"

"huh uncle jay…. you don't have to worry about that" mo fang said reassuringly nodding his head.

"after burning an incense at the shrine today… the old monk fortune, says I would be really lucky today and make a great catch" mo fang replied with more enthusiasm as he recalled the fortune from the old monk in the village shrine.

"sigh!" Mr jay sighed looking at mo fang childish expression, decide to ignore him to do as he please not like it would hinder his own work, as he await the other kids to arrive before going into the sea, while he get on losing the ducked boat from the harbor.

After about half an hour two you, with contrasting size come running towards them, as they panted heavily.

"sorry for keeping you back uncle jay" the two boys said in unison as they crashed onto the sandy soil of the beach, squatting down to catch their breath. One of the boy's who has a large build took in large gulps of air through his mouth.

"fatty sam" suddenly a hand landed on his shoulder sending his crashing head first into the soil.

"look at you, like some bag of bubbling liquid ready to burst open at any time" the jeering voice said at the fallen fat guy.

"i have told you several times to stop eating everything you see and pick up exercise" slapping the shoulder of the fatty mo fang said, in serious admonition like some elderly man.

"get the fuck away from me mo fang" sam yelled angrily at him, trying to pick himself off the ground.

"which damn exercise do you do, apart from running through the market square with food on your hand" slapping mo fang hand away from his shoulder, fatty sam said with a sneer.

"it is okay, big guy" uncle jay said as he approached the bantering youth.

"you guys should get some rest to catch your breath, we still have some time for a trip or two"

"thank you uncle jay" sam and the other youth who has been silent replied joyfully.

"let mo fang aid you guys in arranging the fishing net on the boat" he added after giving it some thought, before heading back to push the boat onto the shore of the ocean.

"but uncle jay don't you said, I don't have at help" mo fang wondered aloud.

"mo fang…. I have decided that no more free ride for you as from today" without turning to look at him Mr jay said from his working position.

"well what ever you said" mo fang shrugged his shoulder as he walked towards the two guys.

"now…now fatty Sam what where you up to today, that you get so late"

"none of your business mo beast" the fat guy berated back.

"nonsense I know you were up to no good" mo fang replied back with disdain.

"hmm!!" a snort echoed from his back, as Song Bai walked away towards the boat.

"it is still better than you who spend time on mischief in the village" the boy said walking away.

"damn you skinny Bai"
