Spring was cold as always. As they stood among the trees in the park, the dim sunlight shone upon them from between the branches.
She could not see Dylan's expression, but she could hear his low voice. "It's raining. Let's go home."
Lily did not hesitate and replied, "You go home too."
She walked away.
Dylan was behind her. In the drizzle, her silhouette looked petite. One could not tell that she was pregnant.
Lily walked quickly but steadily. The rain might pour harder soon, so she wanted to reach home as fast as possible.
She knew that Dylan was following her. Albeit being pregnant and walking in the rain, she did not turn around in fear of showing any sign of weakness.
She pushed open the wooden door of the villa's courtyard and turned around. Dylan stood ten feet away from her, still standing tall though soaked from the rain.
Lily closed the door and locked it, forming a barrier between him and her.
"I'm home." Lily's tone was as cold as the rain.
