The instant that the intense gaze vanished from him, Zenesha's gaze immediately returned to Ravino's face, whose aura suddenly weakened. She was certain that the being observing her through the man's eyes had already left.
She could now completely sigh in relief. As she watched Ravino, his deep black pupils dimmed slightly as he seemed to blink as if he were awakened from the anomaly that being controlled by those beings brought.
His brows furrowed slightly as his lips curled downward, gazing at Zenesha's hand that he had previously caressed as though confused and recalling something.
Zenesha didn't take her eyes away from him, while the pure Zenesha was only waiting for him to say something again. She wanted to confirm something—how much those beings could influence the characters inside.
And as Ravino was a sorcerer that was extremely hungry for knowledge, she wanted to know if this had a significant effect on the overall situation and if the man could notice something, even if it was only a little.
Because if he did, one of her conjectures would be proven. And that was mastering her moonlight magic, which could give her a qualitative change in escaping the fate that those beings sealed her from.
"I seem to recall something," he mumbled, enough for her to hear.
"What is it?" pure Zenesha asked, gentle and pleasing to the ears yet almost monotonous, as though lacking emotions within.
Ravino snapped out of his thoughts and lifted his gaze to look at her face. His black pupils stared at her intently as though finding out what was wrong. Frowning, he shook his head before giving a small smile.
"I'm sorry, my queen. I bothered your usual bonding time with your mother," he apologized, slightly unsure about something but ultimately not diving deeper with his spiritual intuition stopping him.
The mother that Ravino was talking about here was the Moon Goddess, who was believed to have had the moon as one of 'Her' incarnations into the world.
Zenesha's eyes flickered, as a smile gradually emerged on her lips inside. It seemed that nothing in his words was particularly significant, but the implications were still discernible to her.
He noticed something wrong! This meant at some point someone who had keener perceptions than others could notice the anomaly as well. This was only good news for her; it only meant there was some loophole she could take advantage of when the time came.
Ravino went on, stopping his hand from caressing the back of Zenesha's hand. "Let's go to my room, now?" He politely offered, and while appearing confused with this request of his from before, he still went with it in the end.
Of course, pure Zenesha would never refuse him or anyone else. She was forever someone who would be easy to hoodwink. However, at this moment, she didn't have any disagreement inside.
While some of the things might have happened to her when she was in Ravino's room, she realized that if she wasn't going to truly find a method to escape, avoiding these despicable men wasn't the best option
Just like now, some clues that she needed could manifest themselves in front of them. For the sake of finding enough clues and evidence to support her conjectures, Zenesha could endure their detestable existences.
They proceeded with the plan, and with Ravino's guidance, it didn't take them long to arrive at his palace. Everyone in the main harem had their own residence or palace, which not only signified their status but also made it convenient for them to be with the Wolf Queen without any interference.
Zenesha's eyes roamed her surroundings, not listening to the conversation between pure Zenesha and Ravino. Calling it a conversation was actually an overstatement. After all, what else could be good information she could get from their conversation other than her blood pressure rising?
Ravino's palace was the Serenity Palace, which was located a few more palaces to the west of Moonlight Palace. It was rather secluded compared to the palaces occupied by the other three. However, as its name suggests, the palace's surroundings really gave off a serene and peaceful ambiance.
She could actually have a suspicion that the reason Ravino chose this palace was to make it convenient for him to conduct his questionable experiments there.
Her suspicions actually have some essence to them, as the moment they were moving closer to the actual palace, Zenesha could feel a dark aura surrounding the place. It wasn't particularly evil; it was even faint, but for her, who had the natural affinity with moonlight and the moon domain... it was extremely easy to notice.
'Is Ravino a dark sorcerer? Hmm... I thought dark sorcerers' powers came from demons and even devils, but I am not sensing any evil power,' Zenesha assessed the power concealed in the air and made some guesses as to what domain the man was proficient in.
However, considering Ravino was too interested in the Wolf Queen's divinity, she thought he was at least from the moon domain.
"We're here, my queen," Ravino informed her, and Zenesha decided to focus her attention again on Ravino and what was happening to gain some clues. No matter how insignificant it was, no one would ever know.
Pure Zenesha only nodded gently before stepping forward inside, without saying anything. Everyone was already used to her personality; Ravino followed her while the attendants remained outside.
She didn't know why it was customary for Zenesha's personal attendants not to be allowed into the harem quarters. Perhaps for it to be convenient when they were already being tormented by the male leads?
After all, no matter what, Zenesha was still the Wolf Queen who held authority among the wolves. Since most of the spawns of hell weren't wolves, to begin with, only Yosef was a hybrid.
Going closer, the dark aura in the air increased. Zenesha shifted her focus to the pure Zenesha and how she would react to this energy. She was still the Wolf Queen, who had authority with purity, so she should have certain reactions to it.
To her surprise, though, Zenesha remained silent. She didn't seem to bother with the energy, or... her eyes flashed inside. Was it possible that she couldn't sense it?
"My queen, you can sit here," Ravino casually said, not bothering that the Wolf Queen might sense what was wrong with him. In fact, he didn't seem worried about it. It was as though everyone had reached a certain understanding about her inevitability in this subject.
Did that even make sense? Or... as another conjecture was once again formulating some conjectures, her thoughts were stopped by what Ravino said next!
"Impressive. You actually managed to notice it this early." Ravino's voice rang, however, and something about it was somehow different to the ears. Zenesha looked at him, confused and cautious.
She watched as Ravino casually smiled and sat down on the couch in front of her, crossing his legs and leaning casually. Wait. Why was this reminding him of...
Her eyes widened, and she couldn't hide the astonishment in her face—if only this could really register in her surface expressions.
'Prime?' she exclaimed, but only in her mind; she didn't have a voice since she couldn't control the body.
Ravino, who was actually suspected to be Prime, grinned menacingly as he didn't deny or agree.
