Chapter 30 - Ch 30: Hidden Dragon Competition

The black-robed man walked into the inn. He was slightly chubby, with an appearance and aura so ordinary that no one would have paid much attention to him. A simple, long blade hung on his back; there was nothing remarkable about it.

As soon as he entered, some of the people in the inn glanced over out of habit. When they saw his plain appearance and felt his weak aura, most of them lost interest and went back to their drinks and conversations.

But there were a few who observed him more carefully. Their eyes widened with sudden recognition, and a spark of curiosity lightened up in their gaze. They exchanged quick glances, acknowledging something, and then, with silent understanding, looked away, pretending nothing had happened.

The man in the black robe was Chris. He had come to the inn under his father's orders to complete an important mission. It was urgent, and he had to stay under the radar. His identity had to remain a secret, no matter what. So, he made sure not to draw attention to himself, even though some sharp eyes had already noticed him.

He scanned the entire hall and saw that most of the Star Warriors here were just Second-tier Star Warriors. A few were First-tier Star Warriors. As for Blue Spirit Star Warriors, there was none.

Some of the Second-tier Star Warriors looked at him with unfriendly gazes.

He knocked on the counter in front of him without a sound, and the waiter who was busy inside hurriedly came out to greet him. He smiled apologetically and said, "May I ask if you would be staying here or just having a meal?"

"I'll have a bowl of wine to quench my thirst." Chris opened his mouth, his voice was hoarse and deep. This was due to a disguise technique, and he did not need to maintain it himself.

He wasn't actually thirsty, but he had just stepped into the Ten Thousand Abyssal City and was quite unfamiliar with this place. Seeing that it was very lively, he wanted to sit down and listen to some news.

"Is this your first time here?" The waiter recommended with a smile, "Our inn personally brewed Black Pearl Wine is rich and sweet. It's refreshing to drink and only costs a thousand credits a cup. Flowing Cloud Wine, clear but not thin, thick but not turbid, also costs a thousand credits a cup. There is also the signature drink, Dragon Rain Wine. It's fragrant, soft, and clear. Since it's your first time here, it will only cost you ten thousand credits a cup. What kind of wine would you like?"

"These are too expensive. Do you have anything more affordable?" Chris asked with a slight frown.

It wasn't that he couldn't afford it. Credits were not an issue for him. However, he didn't want to draw attention to himself in such a public setting. Remaining inconspicuous was crucial to completing his mission. Revealing his wealth could compromise his hidden identity.

The waiter's smile faded almost instantly upon hearing this. His tone turned indifferent as he replied, "We do have Fruit Spirit Wine. It's only five hundred credits per cup."

"I'll take that," Chris said, quickly using his OL Bracelet to make the payment.

Once the transaction was completed, the waiter pulled a rough ceramic wine cup from beneath the counter. He walked over to a large jar nearby, lifted the lid, and filled the cup until it was about 70% full. With a sharp "pa da" sound, he set the cup down on the counter and, without so much as glancing up, said, "Your Fruit Spirit Wine. Enjoy."

Chris calmly took the wine.

To him, the less attention he attracted, the better. He looked around and found a quieter corner to sit down in.

After sitting, he first checked the wine to make sure there was nothing wrong with it. Then he began to slowly sip it.

This so-called Fruit Spirit Wine was probably only four-tenth of wine, and six-tenth of it was water. The taste of the wine was thin and energy in it was almost non-existent.

Chris shook his head slightly. He did not say anything. He just kept sipping the wine slowly and focused on listening to the people talk.

.....

Inside the Wellings Family, Aiden was standing opposite Marcus Wellings, the head of the Marcus Family.

He was called here by Marcus for some unknown reason.

"Uncle Marcus, do you have something to tell me?" Aiden asked curiously.

Marcus nodded and said, "An urgent matter has come up, so I was about to go to a city called Green Star City. Currently, the official registration for the Hidden Dragon Competition has begun in Green Star City. If you want, I can bring you to register. If you miss the registration, then you won't be able to participate."

Aiden frowned.

To be honest, Chris had no idea what the Hidden Dragon Competition was, nor did he have any interest in it. He was just about to decline when Marcus suddenly added, "With your strength and background, I'm sure you must already know about this competition. Let me tell you about the reward. This time, the champion of the Hidden Dragon Competition will receive X-3 Genetic Fluid."

"Genetic Fluid?"

Aiden's eyes sparkled with curiosity and excitement upon hearing this. Although he had no idea what X-3 Genetic Fluid was, an instinct told him that it must be something valuable and beneficial to him. He should not let go of his opportunity.

He immediately decided. There was no way he was going to let this opportunity slip away.

As for the details about this Hidden Dragon Competition and genetic fluid, he could always use his OL Bracelet to gather more information about them.

Without any hesitation, Aiden agreed to join Marcus, not harboring the slightest suspicion about his intentions.

Marcus nodded his head in satisfaction and said, "Alright. In that case, two days later, I will bring you to Green Star City to register."

"Alright," Aiden said.

Marcus smiled and again said: "There is still time before the Hidden Dragon Competition will officially start. I think you should try to break through and become a Blue Spirit Star Warrior. At that time, you'll have more hope of winning this competition!"

Saying this, Marcus left, leaving Aiden standing.

Aiden was not that worried about his cultivation. He has the Eternal System and could improve his cultivation easily by spending money.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye. It was the day they left Riverside City.

Early in the morning, Aiden and Marcus finished their meal and brought a group of men to Green Star City.

"Aiden, when you arrive at Green Star City, you must remember to hide your power and avoid conflicts as much as possible. Green Star City is not like our Riverside City where there are only two powerful forces including my Wellings Family. In Green Star City, there are four powerful forces and many other hidden talents. I don't know how many of them are there. This city is much stronger than our Riverside City."

"Show your strength directly in the competition, surprise everyone, and try to win the competition!"

Marcus warned Aiden seriously.

There were countless experts in Green Star City. Their strength was incomparably powerful. Almost every single one of those major powers had the strength to destroy a force being led by a Glorious Gold Star Warrior.

Aiden shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't the kind of person who would seek trouble for no reason. As long as others didn't come and provoke him, he wouldn't go and provoke them.

"Now, let me tell you about a few powerful forces of the Green Star City. There are four major forces. They are the Wilson Family, Kalra Family, Star Hunter Tower, and Sky Eagle Association. These four major forces are all guarded by star warriors above the Glorious Gold Stage. They are very powerful. The other major powers more or less rely on them to survive. You must not provoke their people. Once you provoke them, the consequences will be very serious."

Aiden looked at Marcus.

The group moved towards Green Star City at a very fast speed. Although their speed was very fast, when they arrived at Green Star City, it was almost noon.

"That's the Green Star City."

Aiden raised his head and saw a magnificent city standing on the ground. It was majestic and shocking.

Compared to Riverside City, Green Star City was more famous not only in the Green Wood Region but also in the entire Light Wind Empire.

Although it was almost noon, both sides of the road were still bustling with noise and excitement. There was an endless stream of people coming and going, and this was only outside the Green Star City. The atmosphere was already very lively.

"Let's go, we'll enter the city."

Marcus waved his hand and the group moved forward. They followed the crowd and slowly entered Green Star City.
