Anna crouched beside Charles, who was sitting on the ground, and looked at him gently. "Don't worry, leave this to me. You go do what you need to do. Your current task is far more important than clearing out those monsters."
Swallowing a mouthful of rust-tasting saliva, Charles thought for a moment before nodding. "Alright. Just be careful."
Now that the twelve Archbishops have sacrificed themselves, combined with the deaths of those Deep Ones, the enemy's strength must be greatly diminished. With Anna's power, she can handle them.
Looking at the man before her, not a single patch of his skin left unscathed, Anna's eyes filled with heartache. She gently pressed her hand against his body, which was covered in rivets and stitches.
"Charles, you can't keep getting entangled with Gods while in a human body. In their presence, your body is just too fragile. If this continues, you'll collapse. How about I find a way to replace it for you?"
