"Yeah, the Abyss-Sea is really too dangerous. We're nothing but ants compared to them. We're only safe for now because they happen not to want to move. If they felt like doing anything, we would be completely unable to resist."
Anna lowered her head and nipped at his lips. "Exactly! This damned place isn't fit for humans! So, does that mean you agree with me?"
Charles said nothing. In his mind, he pictured two gods covered in tentacles shattering the ocean's surface—that apocalyptic scene.
His eyes slowly closed. Hugging Anna's slim waist, he turned over. "Let's sleep. I need to think this through."
A flash of annoyance appeared in Anna's eyes, but she quickly hid it.
A tentacle slipped out from Anna's flowing hair and flicked the wall lightly, shutting off the bedroom lamp.
