Charles hadn't told his crew about recent events. First, he didn't want to worry them. Second, this was a problem they couldn't help with anyway.
After a moment of thought, Charles patted him on the shoulder, a little wistfully. "Forget it. Just stay here on the island. If you can, just keep living your life with your family. Be at peace and enjoy a normal life."
Confusion flickered in Bandage's eyes, and his voice was low as he asked, "But… I'm immortal… When my family all grow old and die, what about me? Where am I supposed to go then…?"
"Maybe I'll… lose my memory again, start wandering again… searching for my… lost memories…"
Charles looked at him with conflicted feelings. He really didn't know how to answer something like that. So much time had passed, and there were still no answers for Bandage's immortality or his poor memory. He probably wouldn't be going out to sea again either, which meant those secrets would remain lost forever.
