James didn't finish his sentence, as if afraid the word would provoke Charles.
"A monster?" A self-mocking sneer touched Charles's lips. "Then how human do you think I look?"
James shook his head vigorously, protesting with raw emotion, "No! You're not like her! Do you know what she's doing? For those damned experiments, when death row inmates weren't enough, she started using civilians!"
"Those are your people! Now she's treating them like livestock! I told you before! She has never been on our side!"
Hearing his subordinate's words, Charles remained unresponsive, continuing to stare dazedly at his twisted reflection in the glass.
