Charles frowned, his eyes locked on the writhing red flesh on the floor as he contemplated Pai Bo's words. This substance, combined with relic fusion, could indeed grant Explorers a massive boost in power. However, the high fatality rate of relic fusion was a troublesome issue.
"Do you need to absorb it now? I can personally administer it to you."
Something resembling a fleshy sucker extended from Pai Bo's mouthparts. It scooped up the living flesh from the floor and moved toward Charles.
"Hold on," Charles said, raising his hand to block the sucker.
"You don't have to be so guarded with us. Your death would be of no benefit to us. Our interests are aligned right now. Take your wife, for example. She collaborated with Lai Jie, killed our people, and stole our property."
