Nini opened her eyes amidst the rocking, her face etched with discomfort. She looked very uneasy.
Donna gently carried a bowl of wheat porridge to her daughter's bedside. "Come on, get up and have some."
"I don't want to drink it. I'll just throw it up again," Nini complained. "Mom, are we there yet? I hate being on a ship; my head feels woozy every time."
"Almost, dear. It should be today. Come on, let me help you sit up and eat a little. You can't go on an empty stomach."
After reluctantly drinking half a bowl of porridge, Nini couldn't take another bite. She looked up at Donna behind her. "Mom, where are we going? Why did we leave World Crown?"
"We're going to Hope Island, sweetie. Hope Island is wonderful. I heard that not a single person there was killed by the death light, and everyone has enough food to eat."
"And the person who ran the lottery said that as soon as we get there, they'll give us a house for free!"
