Chapter 518 - Chapter 518: Iron Statue Island

Looking at the island guidebook in his hands, Charles understood the origins of the island before him.

Iron Statue Island, an old island discovered four hundred years ago.

On the island stood a giant metal humanoid statue, its head nearly touching the rock layer above. No one knew who had built such a miraculous thing.

Although a curse seemed to linger on the island—that no one living there could survive past the age of forty-seven—its iron resources were simply too enticing to resist. So, the first explorers settled there and began cutting metal from the statue to sell. This trade continued for over four hundred years, and now only half of the giant statue remained.

Most of the materials for the Abyss-Sea's steamboats came from Iron Statue Island and Volcanic Island. One could say the shipbuilding industry of the Abyss-Sea owed a great deal to this giant sculpture.
