On the desolate plain, Charles walked blindly forward. All his crew had vanished, leaving him completely alone.
He had no idea how long he'd been walking, nor how much longer he had to go, but some force compelled him to continue onward.
Suddenly, a red, anti-theft security door appeared before him. It had an upside-down 'Fu' character pasted on it—it was the door to his home.
A spark of excitement appeared on Charles's numb face as he rushed toward it. "I'm going home! I found it!"
The door opened, but beyond it was nothing. There wasn't even simple Darkness, only endless nothingness.
Charles's body jolted violently as he woke from the nightmare.
He discovered a book laid out in front of him. His hand was gripping a pen, endlessly scribbling across the pages.
"Buddy, you had another nightmare. Hang on a sec, let me finish writing the end of this chapter, and then I'll give you your body back."
