The tear in space and time spat Scarlet out into an open field, she groaned as she glanced around slowly. "Great, now where the hell am I?" She stood up and put one hand on her hip. "Well, this isn't any place in Remnant. But I could be wrong..." Scarlet started walking down through the opened field. She sniffed the air for a moment, to see if she could pick up any familiar scents. But she couldn't smell anyone familiar, she scoffed lightly under her breath.
"Tch, I wouldn't be surprised if the people of this world learned how to mask their scents." Scarlet muttered, she stopped as she came into a clearing. A road sign that looked ragged and worn out. "A wooden sign? Yeah I'm definitely not in Kansas anymore." Looking at what the two road signs said, she grumbled and was unable to understand what they said. "So, I'm in another world that doesn't have proper English writing." She looked at the top one as the sign pointed straight ahead, while the other pointed right. Letting out an annoyed sigh, the Grimm girl decided to head straight.
As she walked the path ahead, the sound of trotting horse hooves and was heard approaching from behind her. That was odd, she didn't hear anything at the crossroads. Shaking her head, she stopped. She turned her head as Scarlet saw a horse and carriage coming into view. The person who was driving it, had the horse slow down. "Hey there little lady, you look lost. Where ya heading?"
Scarlet raised an eyebrow, she crossed her arms. "I might be a little lost. Do you know what's worth taking note of around?"
The man scratched his head a little. "Where, there's a village up ahead, not far from there is a base camp, a bunch of folks in green are there. They have magical iron weapons, and magical mechanical and iron horses and bears."
Scarlet looked confused. "Oh? Do you perhaps care to take me there?"
"I can take you into the village , but not near the camp. It has guards walking around it." The man spoke.
Scarlet wasn't finding any of this helpful, but she did want to see what this village had to offer. "Very well then." She looked at the carriage and climbed on board, she sat down as she closed her eyes for a moment. A bunch of people in green? Magical iron weapons and magical iron horses and bears? That logic didn't make any sense. Unless.... no, that couldn't be it.
~~~
After arriving into the village, Scarlet was awkwardly greeted by...well by military men and women. She was baffled, why was the military here? Then it clicked in her head, what that man told her. People in green, magical iron weapons... Of course, guns and military vehicles. She saw a truck drive by carrying cargo to the military base that was off in the distance. "What the fuck?" She muttered quietly to herself.
Not paying attention to where she was going, Scarlet bumped into an elf the elf looked at Scarlet, she eyed her for a moment as she cleared her throat. "Mind watching where you're going."
Scarlet glared at the blonde elf, her crimson red eyes glowing. "Oh? Someone is being a bit snobby for their own good...And who might you be?"
The elf felt hurt, everyone knew who she was, but this girl....this girl standing before her. She had the audacity not knowing who she was. "I am Tuka, Tuka Luna Marceau. But you may call me Tuka."
"Tuka huh? You're awfully calm for an elf wearing human clothes. I thought all elves wore whatever they could forge or get their hands on. But I guess I was wrong." Scarlet spoke.
Tuka gasped. "How dare you, I'll have you know that these clothes were given to me. I feel rather comfortable in them, if anyone needs a taste of fashion as they call it. It would be you."
Scarlet scoffed, but she grinned. "Is that so?" She took one step closer to Tuka. "If there wasn't anyone around right now, I'd have my way with you...." She whispered. "I wonder what elf meat tastes like?"
Tuka shivered as she backed up a little, she grabbed her bow and gripped it tight. "You sicken me, you speak of eating my people like it's some sort of....sport..."
Scarlet was about to say something, but didn't. Her eyes locked onto another unfamiliar face. A girl in a Lolita dress. And a halberd, it's sharp edges of shined and glistened. "Tuka, is this a friend of yours?"
Tuka looked back and shook her head. "No Rory, I never seen her in my life."
The girl, now known to Scarlet as Rory. Looking at Scarlet, she tilted her head to the side as she studies her. "Then she could be an enemy...a spy."
"So you think I'm a spy do you?" Scarlet asked. "I don't even know the first thing about this place. But if you want to fight." She smirked as she twirled Black Rose around, the sharp tip of the scythe slamming into the ground. "Then by all means...why don't we have a bit of....fun?"
"Tuka, go tell Yoji and the rest of the group. I'm going to be a little late returning to base." Rory spoke.
Tuka wanted to protest, to say she would stay and fight as well, but she could feel the air grow cold. Giving her a small nod, Tuka ran off. Rory glared at Scarlet for a moment before speaking. "I should let you know, I'm not your average girl."
"I guess that makes two of us." Scarlet purred softly.
~~~
The sound of metal clashing against one another filled the air, Scarlet swung her scythe at Rory. Rory swung her halberd at Scarlet, both of the blades from each weapon grazed their faces by an inch.
"Not bad, for a wannabe goth girl." Scarlet spoke.
"Goth? What's that?" Rory asked as she jumped toward's Scarlet and kicked her in the gut, sending her flying back.
Scarlet clutched her stomach as she doubled over coughing. She slowly stood up, her body was still recovering. "Damn it..." She muttered.
"Do I sense hesitation?" Rory asked raising her halberd over head. "Giving up already are we?"
Scarlet glanced up, she scoffed but smirked. "Not by a long shot cupcake." Scarlet felt her Aura flicker a bit as she struggled to stand straight. She used her semblance to stop time, but what she didn't expect was Rory was able to move with the minimum space that had been frozen.
"The fuck?" Scarlet muttered to herself, she watched as Rory moved with inhuman speed, just what the hell was she? Scarlet moved to counter Rory's attack, however. Rory swung her halberd, from the left side, slicing Scarlet in half. Scarlet's Aura flicked again as it shattered, her body split in two as her semblance came to a stop. Her body split apart as both halves of herself fell to the ground.
"Well, that was fun." Rory spoke looking down at Scarlet. "But I guess you were all talk and no bite." Turning on her heels, Rory walked away. "I suppose I could ask Yoji to come retrieve your body, but what would be the point?"
Scarlet didn't say anything, her body stitching itself back together. But she continued to listen to Rory speak. "Are we dead already? What a shame I would've loved-" She then stopped speaking as Scarlet cracked her back and knuckles.
"I'm sorry, that took longer than I had thought." Scarlet spoke popping her neck.
Rory stopped in her tracks, she turned her head, seeing Scarlet standing there. A small grin played at her lips as she hummed. "Oh, you're going to be so much fun~" She turned around as she eyed Scarlet up and down. "But as much as it would be fun fighting you all day. We should really call it there. A win's a win...."
Scarlet scoffed, she knew Rory was right. Scarlet did need time to recover as well. "Tch, fine. Lead the way to this base."
Rory grins. "So you do want to come along after all huh? I guess you aren't a spy after all."
~~~
At the base, JSDF soldiers were jogging around the base. Tuka was walking with Yoji to where Scarlet was at, the two of them were talking about something, but Scarlet couldn't make sense of what they were saying.
Rory was standing off to the side, polishing her halberd, her crimson red eyes sparkling as she gave Scarlet a smug grin.
Scarlet scoffed, she crossed her arms as she leaned against the military tank. She eyed Rory for a moment before looking away. "Tch, you think you're hot shit don't you?"
"I'm sorry, what was that? I could've sworn I heard you say something." Rory spoke with a small grin on her face. "Do you perhaps want to repeat that? I couldn't hear you very well."
Yoji rubbed the back of his head as he listened to the two bite each other's heads off, taking a step forward he tried to calm the situation down. "Ladies, please. You mustn't fight like this."
Scarlet shot him a dirty glare before she pushed herself off the tank. "Is that so? Well then, why don't we settle this the proper way?" Scarlet knew she couldn't just jump straight back into another battle with her, but Rory was pissing her off.
Rory's Halberd shined as the sun was beating down from above, Scarlet's scythe also glimmered and shined as the sun reflected off it. Rory smirked as she walked away. "If that's how you want it, then I'm game.."
Scarlet chuckled darkly. she followed the Demi-Goddess to an opened area, giving them plenty of space away from the military base camp.
"Are they really going to be doing this?" Shino asked as she stepped forward, one hand on her hip, she glanced over at Yoji. "Shouldn't we stop them?"
"I don't know." Yoji muttered.
The Grimm girl smirked as she held Black Rose tightly. "Don't come crying to me when you're down for the count."
Rory chuckled under her breath. "Please, you're talking to a Demi-Goddess, or have you forgotten? I kicked your ass last time, and I can do it again."
A blue slime wiggled its way over before morphing into a familiar face. "Girls please....we can't be doing this, not right now."
Scarlet recognized that voice, her anger and blood boiling even more, she shot Rimuru a glare. "I didn't ask for your opinion Rimuru."
Rimuru gulped nervously as they chuckled. walking up next to Rimuru was another familiar face. "Relax, this is going to be one 'Catastrophe.' But it doesn't seem like it would 'Burn' the plans we have for this world."
That voice....it couldn't be. Scarlet frowned as she turned to look at the blonde brawler standing next to Rimuru. "Yang..." Turning her full gaze to the huntress she lowered Black Rose.
"Scarlet." Yang spoke crossing her arms. "Did you come here to piss on my parade and ruin things?"
Scarlet scoffed. "I should be asking you that, you bimbo. What the fuck are you doing here?" She asked and looked towards Rimuru. "And the same goes for you as well."
"Um well." Rimuru spoke rubbing the back of their head. "I don't really know myself....but it was some sort of time rift that tore open within Tempest and everyone was away.. I was the only one in town and got sucked in..."
Yang nodded lightly. "I was in the Ever After with the girls, we saw Ruby reappear then I got pulled into whatever magical shenanigans had happened."
Scarlet felt something....relief? No....she didn't want to feel that, but yet...she felt it. Was it because Yang said Ruby had returned to her and the team? She hates feeling like this. She only wanted to feel this way when she knew her own family was safe. But not like this. Yang however noticed the silence from Scarlet, a smug grin played at her lips. "Uh-oh, is that a look and the sound of relief I see and hear? So you were worried about Ruby, aw you sly dog."
Scarlet shot Yang a dirty glare, Yang backed off a little as she put her arms behind her head. "Tough crowd...jokes aside, Ruby told me who's behind it. But still..." She walked towards Scarlet and grabbed her by the collar of her jacket. "You had no damn right in leaving her by herself, you selfish prick."
Scarlet snapped back, she punched Yang in the face hard. "I did what I had to do! Leaving Ruby in Tokyo was my choice, you said it yourself, she got back to you, Weiss and Blake. You don't go messing with people you don't know the first thing about. White Queen could've easily killed Ruby right before your eyes. But no, she took you from your team and brought you here."
Yang stumbled back, her face red from the punch. "You're just like her....I should've known better to think you cared for Ruby's safety."
Scarlet knew who Yang was referring to. "Don't you dare compare me to Salem. I am nothing like her. Her blood my run through me, but I am not like her."
Yang chuckled dryly. "You say that, but what are you doing? Getting revenge, isn't that the same thing as her own goals? Getting revenge on Remnant for her own past mistakes she picked."
Scarlet gritted her teeth. "I should kill you where you stand Xiao Long."
Yang glared at her, her eyes turning red. "Go ahead. Go for it, kill me."
Right before the two could even make a move to attack one another, Rimuru used Paralyzing breath, shooting a yellow mist from their hand as it engulfed the two girls. Paralyzing them both, making it hard for the two to move.
