The floor-to-ceiling French windows shattered violently, glass exploding inward like a storm of blades. Through the broken frames poured vampires—no longer wearing their elegant disguises, no longer pretending to be beautiful nobles or harmless guests.
They had transformed.
Their bodies twisted into terrifying shapes, bones stretching, joints cracking loudly as wings burst from their backs. Their faces were no longer human. Mouths split wide enough to tear skin from bone, and rows of long, jagged fangs gleamed beneath the flickering candlelight.
Even the strongest players froze in fear.
All thoughts of revenge against Leonel and Isolde vanished in an instant.
