"Ren? Ragnar?" Evie turned slowly in place, eyes scanning every corner. Her voice echoed faintly. She was alone—completely alone—and that fact made her pulse quicken.
The swirling labyrinth of Jibblinplip had split them apart. She didn't know how, or why, but she had landed in a room entirely different from the others. Worse… she had no idea how big the room was or what lived inside it.
The spacious stone chamber looked empty at first—eerily empty—until Evie's eyes adjusted. On the floor lay ten random items scattered in no particular pattern. They were varied in color, shape, size, and material. Among them were a cracked mirror, a dusty old coin, a lamp, mismatched accessories, a single pair of fuzzy slippers, a few potions, and other strange objects she couldn't quite identify.
Nothing looked dangerous, yet nothing looked normal.
Evie's face twisted in confusion. "Why am I the only one here…?"
