Massive beasts roamed freely among the paths, their tusks and horns gleaming. Some were domesticated and harnessed for hunting, while others — colossal shadows moving beyond the outer walls — were so large that even a fortress would look small beside them.
And there, looming like a sleeping god, stood Blood Mountain — the ancient volcano that gave the region its name. Its smoke curled endlessly into the sky, casting a blood-red tint over everything beneath it.
