Earlier that morning at Zephyr Academy, Leonel lounged against the brick gate, one ankle crossed over the other, sunlight warming his cheeks. He scrolled through short clips on his phone—pet dramas, raid highlights, a cooking fail compilation—and grinned so wide his dimples hurt.
He was waiting for Isolde so they could head to Diamond Palace together for dinner with her family. He still couldn't decide if he was excited or terrified.
A light tap landed on his knuckles.
Leonel lowered his phone and found a cute guy standing inches away—gray hair with streaks of white and gold, bright blue eyes that smiled before his lips did. The guy looked like a snow fox trying to act harmless.
Leonel pulled off his earphones. "You are… Garry!"
"It's Sky," the boy corrected, smile thinning.
Leonel laughed, good-natured as always. "So close."
How is that close? Sky's eye twitched. He wanted to scream, but he coughed into his fist instead, smoothing his face back into charm.
