Ren slapped Leonel on the head. "What do you mean, sidekick?"
Leonel rubbed the sore spot, grinning from ear to ear. He stuck out his tongue and laughed in a silly way. "Ehehehehe."
While the two bickered, Players 4 and 5 exchanged a quick look. They nodded at each other, then bolted, running in different directions with their tails between their legs.
"Hey!" Leonel shouted.
"And where do you think you're going?" Ren called after them, his voice light with mockery. "You should have accepted my offer the first time. Now, only death is your escape."
He flicked his staff. A volley of bright, whistling shots cut through the air. Player 5 screamed as heat seared across his back—then burst into particles, eyes wide in shock as he vanished.
Player 4 stumbled, barely hanging onto a sliver of HP. He didn't look back. He ran faster, boots pounding the snow, his voice echoing as he fled. "You'll pay for this! We know your names and faces!"
