"Egh? Is he leaving? But what about his share of the treasure?" Rox asked, scratching his head as he watched Ren's body slowly dissolve into glowing pixels.
"It's fine. He doesn't want it," Evie replied, her voice soft but edged with a faint sharpness that didn't go unnoticed.
"Egh?" Roxy blinked in confusion. "But he was the one who did all the work. I feel bad taking everything when we barely helped."
"I said it's fine." Evie's tone carried finality, and her sudden flare of irritation made both siblings flinch.
Rox and Roxy exchanged quick glances and fell silent. The calm and collected Evie they knew rarely raised her voice. Did she and Ren fight? They hadn't even spoken much. Maybe they had one of those silent, eye-contact arguments? Whatever it was, both decided to shut their mouths before she snapped again.
