For a long moment, I was tempted to use my second Heroic Calling. The urge to send a worldwide broadcast to all survivors was almost overwhelming. But as my finger hovered over the mental trigger, I hesitated. What exactly would I say to them? "Don't die"? "I'm sorry"?
I lacked the simplest strategy, let alone a comprehensive plan to offer them. Telling a drowning man to swim is useless if he doesn't know which way the shore is. In addition to that, the Heroic Calling was a finite resource.
