The dinner concluded smoothly, which eased some of Vera Warner's guilt. After all, Timothy Lawson's health had mostly recovered; she would just have to find other ways to make it up to him in the future.
"Victor, Vera, it's getting late. You and the kids should head home. You have a busy day tomorrow."

"By the way, are you driving back? If not, I can have the butler take you. It's not safe for you to drive in your current condition."
Victor Morgan said to Timothy Lawson with concern.
"No need. I can get back on my own. Besides, my body needs to move a little. I'll just treat it as exercise."
