Happy, carefree times are always fleeting, and the East City trip for Vera Warner, Victor Morgan, and their two little ones was coming to an end.
"Mommy, can we please stay and play for a couple more days? Look at all the places we still haven't gone to!"
"Yeah! It's so fun here, and Aethelgard is so boring. Just two more days, please!"
Now that it was time to leave, how could Luke and Zola possibly be willing? All they could do was put on their most pitiful act.
"Luke, Zola, have you two forgotten about school? You can't afford to fall behind in your studies. Tomorrow is Monday."
"If you love having fun this much, we can always do it again after a little while."
"If you're good in school and listen to us, we can go on lots of trips, and you can buy whatever you want."
Vera Warner, of course, wasn't going to give in to her children's unreasonable demands. Still, the trip had certainly brought them all closer, giving both the kids and the couple a much-needed chance to relax.
