Soon after she burst into the training ground, scanning the empty space. Her gaze swept the area, confusion etched on her face.
'Lost, little lady?' a voice purred. Kira spun around, facing a man in familiar training attire. His sudden appearance caught her off guard, slender figure that did well to hide his build if not for the calluses on his hand and the air around him, "I will take you to where they are currently training" His grin stretched wide, but his eyes seemed to say otherwise – Kira sensed it, though she couldn't quite place why. Her instincts screamed neither warning nor comfort.
He leaned in, his hand extended. Kira met his gaze, her head tilting up
Eyes like bloody rubies, a dark streak slashing across each iris – mesmerizing, yet laced with danger. Dull blonde hair, packed neatly, "Let's go, we don't want someone to be cranky, do we?" as if entranced, Kira held his hand and he led her away.
They finally reached a different terrain, "Move your legs" the instructor's voice boomed causing Kira to jolt involuntarily squeezing the strange man's hand, "Don't let trifle things scare you, young lady" the strange man said to Kira. At the same time the instructor took notice of them, if the air wasn't strong enough this time it was suffocating.The other children felt it too, not daring to move a muscle.
"Eoman" the instructor said, with a hint of malice.
"Ryven" the strange man responded in kind with a cheerful smirk. With that Ryven took a step forward, a strong surge of power unleashed, pushing forward as if in the intent to kill but was met with a head on attack as the stranger Eoman, aura clashing against each other neither refusing to back down, blowing debris all over, winds pushing again the children. Kira was nearly blown away if not for the man holding her.
Their auras collided, neither willing to back down. Ryven increased his output pushing Eoman's aura back, when Ryven thought he would subdue Eoman, Eoman smirked, he looked at him incredulous but was caught off guard as Eoman dissolved his aura causing Ryven's power that was a stalemate to continue surging forward at high speed and Kira was standing right on its path.
Time froze as a power surge in form of a blade sliced towards her, Kira rooted to the spot. not knowing whether to move or if she would be fast enough to move out in time. A flash of fear crossed the instructor Ryven's eyes, without wasting time he swiftly withdrew his power cancelling out the power surge missing Kira at hairs breath.
"You!". Ryven growled as he looked at Eoman with seething hatred.
"Carefull now, we won't want to loose good resources" Eoman replied with a fake smile. Unable to go further to avoid risking the children's lives, Ryven recollected himself returning to a stoic face.
"You were supposed to be on a mission" he said, to which Eoman replied with a smile leaving Ryven questioning.
"Come forward", the instructor said, calling out to Kira, without further ado, Kira removed her hand from Eoman's hands but as she took a step forward a pressure she didn't know was there came upon her. Her knee hit the ground with a thud, pain shot up from her joint like electric shock.
"Get up" the instructor's commanding voice echoed, gathering her strength as she pushed against the soil to get back to her feet, her bones running stiff, grinding against one another. She was up.
"Move", her steps were slow and sluggish as she struggled against the pressure that kept forcing her to the ground, her leg quivering, any slight movement felt like her bone would snap, crash, she fell onto the ground again. Struggling to breathe as she strained her head to look at the remaining distance. The children watched from the sidelines with mixed expressions, amongst all she caught their worried stare.
The instructor Ryven watched with a cold stare. Getting up again, she walked slowly but steadily, steps deliberately only moving when her weight had moved to her front leg and she could hold herself, did she continue forward. with what seemed like forever she finally reached where Ryven stood. Her legs still tremble, forcing herself to stand up straight. "s..s..Sir" she said, Ryven looked at her for sometime before easing the pressure Kira was feeling. stumbling back in relief " Go stand in line" Ryven instructed, Kira walked to where the other children were staying, and Sapphire stepped out to assist her.
"You should get going," Ryven said, turning to Eoman, without breaking eye contact. " Yes…yes I should" Eoman said, with a sinister smile. his figure began to dissolve.
"Beautiful worlds lives in your eyes" the words echoes in Kira's head, stopping her in her tracks as she turned to look at Eoman dissolving figure, eyes piercing into her hearing his misleading voice catching her off guard, unable to understand what he said or meant.
"You shouldn't hide it" then he was gone.
"Let's continue where we stopped" Instructor Ryven said snapping Kira out of her stupor, she immediately joined the line.
They were instructed to move their bodies while under certain pressures, running laps, doing squats, sit ups and leg and arm balance, it was hard even when some fell and thought they would get scolded the scolding never came, the instructor seemed too preoccupied with his thoughts, soon after he dismissed them too early than the normal time saying they should eat and do whatever with the time they had and left immediately.
Kira got up only to be nearly toppled over as Kealor bolted to wrap her in the tightened hug he could muster. "Kira, I missed you, are you feeling better now", Kira was unable to answer as she felt all her air escaping her,
"Hey!, let her go, you're squeezing her," Sapphire said, dragging Kealor by the collar as he tried to pry Kira from his grip.
"Nah uh, you had her all yesterday" Kealor whined,
"Eh!, She was unconscious"
"You were with her"
"That doesn't count," Sapphire said, flabbergasted by what Kealor was uttering, Nirro only shook his head, and for a long time a smile bloomed on Kira's face. Lucian looked at them then turned back, walking away. The whole group paused, staring at his retreating figure. "Luc…" Kealor called out but was stopped, Sapphire successfully pried Kealor away from Kira.
"Let's go and eat" Sapphire said, immediately Kealor's down spirit, elevated grabbing Kira's hand as he ran "Come Kira, let's hurry", "Slow down" Sapphire shouted as Kealor was weaving through other children dragging Kira along, "Hurry up or we will leave to our sleeping area before you even think of eating" Kealor replied. Sapphire sighed while walking side by side with Nirro.
