Arman pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, seemingly turning the question over in his head before clicking his tongue in irritation.
"That's all I know."
He turned and started walking away, clearly done with the conversation.
But Ryley wasn't.
He lunged forward and seized Arman's arm, his nails digging sharply into his skin before the man could shake him off.
Arman barely had time to turn when Ryley's brown eyes suddenly blazed with a brilliant light.
His Watcher power surged through him.
In an instant, the forest vanished from Ryley's sight as he forced his way into Arman's memories, tearing through fragments of a past the man had refused to surrender willingly.
Images flashed before him.
Faces.
Blood.
A throne.
A crown that had changed hands long before Arman ever lost it.
And then Ryley was thrown back into himself.
