Chapter 19 - Taking the Male Lead Away

That hand was just about to reach into the cage when someone firmly pressed it down.

Su Ye let out a light laugh.

"Did you forget? I already won this man at auction."

As soon as she finished speaking, she raised her hand and knocked the person to the ground.

Su Ye stood outside the iron cage, locking eyes with the man inside.

Her back stiffened for a moment.

She had doubled back, partly because she suddenly remembered: at this time, Su Qing was suffering from the outburst of the Curse's deadly poison in his body, making his cultivation completely suppressed.

That's why, in the book, three months later, Su Ruoruo would save his life.

Meaning, right now, he truly is too weak to lift a finger.

She had walked far away, but when she heard the lascivious insults and obscene laughter behind her, she ultimately returned.

Very soon, the iron cage door was opened.

The auctioneer beside her was still busy flattering her.

"Madam, you truly have good taste. With looks like this, even I've never seen the likes of…"

Before the sentence finished, Su Ye was already bending down, slipping into the cage.

She looked at the shackles on his feet and spoke,

"Can you walk on your own?"

Su Qing looked at her entering the cage, his throat moved, his voice a little hoarse, holding a casual tone.

"Hm?"

He had just responded when Su Ye pulled a clean handkerchief from her sleeve and covered his eyes.

She had no choice—every time she met his gaze, she couldn't help but tense up.

Once his eyes were covered, that feeling vanished instantly.

She breathed out a little, then said,

"I'm taking you away."

As soon as she spoke, she grabbed the black cloth hanging outside the cage, wrapped it around his body, and then lifted him into her arms.

Without another glance, she headed straight for the cage's exit.

A young attendant led the way ahead.

None of them feared Su Ye would skip town.

After all, with the Young City Lord's reputation, you can run, but you can't hide.

As Su Ye carried him, his red robe twisted awkwardly, and behind them those same filthy remarks floated up.

"That man's really something, huh."

"What's the rush? There'll be chances later."

Then came another round of laughter.

Su Ye quickened her pace, soon climbing the stairs to the second floor, out of earshot.

Though he looked frail, it was still a man's weight—especially since he was a head taller than her.

Carrying someone so big, she blocked the way ahead entirely.

It made her carry him with plenty of stumbling.

Su Qing was very close to her, and once again that sweet scent washed over him.

His eyes were covered by a kerchief, making it impossible to see his expression.

Su Ye pushed open the door and stepped onto the bed draped in decadent red curtains.

She bent over, laying him down on the thick mattress.

He leaned in, inhaling softly near her neck.

Their posture was undeniably ambiguous.

Unfortunately, Su Ye had no attention to spare for that.

After placing him on the bed, her gaze dropped to his shackles.

She crouched, staring at the chains fixed to his ankles.

After a moment's thought, she reached out and applied a bit of force.

With a crisp snap, the chain broke immediately.

Once she finished, she finally looked up at him.

The white handkerchief over his eyes remained untouched.

In that red robe, with that appearance, inside such a room…

It really felt like a wedding night.

The thought drifted through Su Ye's mind.

She heard him give a low cough.

His complexion was paler than before.

Apparently, the deadly poison within him had flared up again.
