After my speech the teacher at school grew fond of me and saw my potential so there was assemble and all students went there and we first sang gospel songs as usual then one of the teachers preached and they asked us to pray and we did that. And then the teacher announced
" good morning students"
" good morning mam" the students replied
" today is a wonderful day and we have some news for all of you, we'll be hosting a competition of a prepared speech among students and the ones who'll be the best they'll get to compete with International schools at midrand "
and every student was excited and that's when I saw this as my other opportunity to shine as a student and also as a person who has her own dreams and then the teacher continued
" the one who'll make our school proud will get a voucher to go outing with parents and have a mini vacation for a week" she said and then one of the students asked
" a vacation to where" she asked
" a vacation to Spain" she answered and they all gasped and you could see the excitement of each and every single student there. And then I saw Lindo coming near me and said
"Babe I think you should be part of this" he said
"Shh we're listening we'll talk later"
"But babe" he said
"Shh" I said with irritation
And then sadly the teacher caught us ," hey you two come here" she shouted and then the whole school was like ohh! And then we went to her and she said
" why are you making a fuss while I'm announcing important stuff"
"Sorry mam it won't happen again " I said looking down with embarrassment but then my boyfriend made things worse by lying
" but mam you took of your glasses I'm sure due to your sight issue you confused us to other people" he said confidently
And the whole assembly laughed
"SINCE you're trying to make a fool of me how about we have some fun" she said with an evil smirk that's when I knew we were in deep trouble and she said
" you girl go back to your place and you smart boy when I'm done talking you're following me" she said while laughing
And I went back and she continued speaking of the terms and conditions required for us to make it and then said may the best presenter win and then said you can go to class our lessons my continue and then we all went to our classes it was just her and Lindo left then she said
" you follow me to my office" she shouted and then Lindo followed and he was soo nervous and then they reached her office and she said squat for me now I want 200 frog jumps and he did them but on the 50th one he was soo tired he just fell down and said "mam I'm Truly sorry I made a mistake please forgive me "
"Forgive you hmm young man I'll forgive you when you reach the number 200 and since you decided to stop your number is now at zero so if I was you they'd be less talking and more frog jumps" she shouted
And some teachers entered the office and went out then they came to my class and said "oh that student that made a nuisance at assembly is punished like he's in the military but I'm sure he'll come out of there fearing all the teachers I even made a video of him so that you can see "
and then they showed the whole class and they looked at me and laughed then ayanda came to my desk and set on top of it and said
" OMG did you see your knight in shining armor ( laughing) oh zandy zandy you thought you'd win by getting him but I guess he ain't shining anymore" she shouted and everyone in class laughed and the teacher asked
" ayanda why are you on zandile's case" she asked
" well mam I'm sure you don't know this but that boy is actually zandile's boyfriend and she slapped me for him imagine mam" she said while laughing
"Really, zandile is it true ?" the teacher asked
And we'll I noded and said
"It is true that we're dating but the part of me slapping her for him is a lie I slapped her cause she slapped me accusing Mr of forcing myself into Lindo mam" I said loudly
" mmm this matter is bigger than I imagined mmm so you're both fighting for this boy who could be cheating on you and who can leave you for another woman at any day come on girls just have some respect for yourselves" the teacher said
" but mam she stole my man from me zandile is a true snake me and that guy are truly passionate about each other and zandile used muthi (medicine) steal him away from me" she said proudly
" zandile what do you have to say for yourself in your defense" the teacher asked
"Well mam ayanda likes competing with me and angikho darh (I ain't there) so if ucabanga ukuthi she can have any guy including my boyfriend she can try but the fact that she's accusing me of giving him muthi (traditional herbs)to fall for me just because he was more attracted to me than to her that's not right bur everyone has their own opinion regarding things there's nothing more I can say" I said calmly and then went back to reading my book
" mmm aii girl izindaba zenu zinzima shame (your matters are hard to solve) but isizulu sithi izindaba zababili azingenwa (the Zulu Language says you cannot interfere in the matters of 2 people)" the teacher said
Then she said " let's continue with school work and let these matters be"
"Okay mam" the whole class agreed
Ayanda decide to sit near me and while the teacher was explaining school work she whispered
" you'll never get away with taking him away from me ever do you hear me " she said
And I just stared at her and then focused on the teacher and eventually got tired of me and also began to focus
