New neighbor
Another day,
'Mei, are you free during lunchtime?' One of her very well-known school mate, Justine Dela Rama asked her while shes still busy on taking down notes. Midterm examinations are approaching, and she needs to maintain her grades so she can stay on top.
'sorry, but I'll be on the library for some important research' the boy smiled and nod his head as if he understands that Mei is busy.
'uhmm.. how about in dismissal time?' Mei thinks if, she's busy at that time. She remembers that her father wants her to see at home before six in the evening.
'i guess, I have an hour? My curfew time is six' the boy did make a punch in the air. That also makes her chuckle.
Actually, She's not really into serious relationships because that'll be a pain in her ass. It's not like she hates love or the person. She's just afraid of commitment. And besides, her parents won't be happy to know that she's flirting with someone.
Flirt and a bitch is one of her parents harsh words that definitely hurts her. Even though she did nothing except on fucosing her studies.
'Uhh.. can I invite you for a walk in the plaza?' the boy asked again. She's thinking about it. Well, if it's a friendly date then, she will go. And she can't see something wrong with it. It's also a good thing to unwind herself to the stresses she have these past few days.
'okay'
'yess! Gotta wait you at the gate after the class!' the boy stands up and immediately went out of their room because the next subject is also about to start
She sigh.
'Good day Ma'am' Mrs. Vergara greeted the school head as they went inside the room.
'Good day also Señora. How may I help you?' Mrs. Vergara smiled and turned her attention to her son who's looking like, not really interested.
His earphones are on and he's enjoying it.
'i'm here to enroll my Son for this sem. We just got transferred here the other day. He's good at his studies and one of the excellent students in the city' Lucas is humming that distracts the school head. Her mother tap him to stop. So he stop and wanders his eyes to the four corners of the room.
'Can I see his grades?'
'sure, I have it. Here.'
'he's quietly good at academics'
'he is. That's why I'm so proud of my young man. He always make me proud!' He just shake his head of what his mother is actually saying.
'You've never been so proud of me. Stop acting like you really are.' he said to his mother after the meeting with the school head. He's disgusted of what his mother says.
'I am proud of you son!' his mother said in a low soft tone. Teary eyed.
'If you really are proud, where are you when I need you the most? Where are you when you promised to watch me play my bass? Where are you in my very important days? See? I never had a mom!' Lucas is really angry and hurt at the same time. Thinking about the younger Lucas in the past makes him feel pain. He can't forget how his mother disowned him. He will never forget on how his mother traits him back then. And most especially, he holds on to her promised that was never been granted.
He hates it when someone promise but they can't actually do it. It'll just make people expect something higher that can't never be done.
He walks from the school up to their house. He doesn't want to be with his mother. What he really wants is, to be with his biological father. If his pops has only the right and power to fight his custody in his mother, he'll still be surely under his care.
'Kuya! You're home!' Levi is happy when he saw him enter the house. He run towards him for a welcome hug.
'yes I am' he saw his mom and step dad in the living room, watching a television. But he doesn't care about the two. He's only concerned with Levi.
'Imm'a gonna show you something. C'mon!' Levi grabs his hand again.
How could be this little kiddo so adorable. His mind said. He looks at how Levi's hands are so small and soft in his rough and big hands. He cannot aware on remembering the young Lucas opposite to this young adorable kid he's holding.
His younger brother showed the assembled robot. He gaves a very good remark then messed it's hair and hugs him at the same time.
*Ringg!*Ringg* cellphones ringing
He excused himself from Levi and went to his room to answer the call. It's Claude. His friend And his band mate.
'Dude! Dont you have the plan to call us?! It's been three fucking days if waiting!' he smirked. Because he knows his friend are just over reacting and it made him feel sick.
'You're over reacting dude. That will not affect me' he turns the speaker in to louder one so he can still answer the call while he's changing his clothes.
'How's life?' that's Brian's voice from Claude's line.
'The same as fuck man' his friends just laughed at him. Those two really knows him for they are his only friends that he can really trust.
'You should give your mother a chance dude. You know, you only live once' these punks are really teasing him
'Do the two of you, have any more something to ask?' he said a little bit annoyed. 'because you guys are really messing up with my mood'
'oh! Is it white blood or red blood?' Claude's laugh louder than Brian and it hurts his eardrums.
'Fuck you!' he was about to cut the line when Brian mentioned about the mascaraed concert, which will happened in three days time.
'I'll come'
'you better be bro!' Claude said like a closing remark. He's really a tease
'you stay safe there dude' and the line went dead.
He look at his wrist watch and it's already four in the afternoon. He went downstairs and proceeded to the kitchen with a big plastic bag with him. He slid a lot of candies and chocolates. It's for the kids there on the coast. They made him promised that's why he's going to bring them the goods.
Instead of taking the front road, he chose to take the back path at the seashore. Because taking the front road will make him walk longer and it's gonna make him tired since he walks the distance of school and their mansion earlier.
At exactly four fifteen in the afternoon, he's already sitting in the big rock of the seashore while waiting the kids to come over. He'll just need to wait fifteen minutes more for them to come.
'Good day to you young man' he looks at the fisherman who is waving it's hand for him to notice
'Good day!' he replied. The fisherman is an old man yet, he go to the ocean to catch fish
'Are you new here?' the fisherman asked again when it's boat reaches the sand.
'uh… yeah, I moved yesterday' he's not really good at making conversation that's why he is confused. It's either talk to the fisherman or not.
'Come I will introduce you to my colleagues' he's also doubting but in the end he follows the man and help him bring the buckets
'Everyone! We have a new neighbor here' said the old man. He's a little bit shy but he didn't let them see that he is. 'He moved yesterday here in Asturias' the man's colleagues are grateful to him. They even have a simple celebration for him as their new neighbor
'Mei! Uncle San called you to come at the banquet' her neighbor named Rose called her from the outside of their house. She peek at the window and quickly change for a formal dress.
'Rose, please tell papa that I will come in a minute' she put some powder on and some cologne then done. She went downstairs and put her sleepers on. She look at her reflection from the mirror before she finally left the house.
She walks to the stone made passage. That leads her to the cottage which is often use for the venues of parties or banquet.
'San! Your daughter is now here' said by Tiya Aleng for her father. But her father is busy talking with it's colleagues 'wait here, I'll get you a plate' after minute, Tiya Aleng came back back with a plate.
'thank you, Tiya' she said and finally went inside the cottage to greet everyone inside and also to pick for a food.
'Good evening Tiyo's' Mei greeted happily as she vow also vow at them.
But one person catches her attention.
