"Alana," Gabriella called calmly, as if her insides weren't twisting with the pain brought by the sudden realization that Primo might have been micro-cheating on her. "I think you've misunderstood something."
Confusion settled across Alana's face. She instinctively cradled her swollen belly, gently rubbing it as though her baby had grown restless from the tension hanging between them.
"The thing is," The Monteria heiress began, her voice measured and almost patient, "even though you seem to think we're the same—just two ordinary women Primo happened to take an interest in—we're not."
She held Alana's gaze without blinking.
"Before Primo ever entered my life, I was already a Monteria heiress. I was born into privilege and status." Gabriella then let go of a faint, almost mocking smile that tugged at the corner of her lips as she destroyed all of the Alana''s delusions that she surrounded herself with.
