Chapter 677 - Romance in the Frozen World (5)

No wonder the Silver Horns of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears were so precious to the Partas Tribe and the rest of the factions that existed on the Fenran Rex IX. Having something that had purification capabilities on the Warp was essentially invaluable, in fact, and could be used for a plethora of uses.

Many within the Fenran Rex IX were collecting the Silver Horns of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears, despite the dangers and everything that the removal of the Silver Horn from the corpse of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bears represented.

"Yes... some are within the vaults of the Partas Tribe and then in the smaller warehouses. Right now, since the Warpstorm has covered the entire planet, there has been heightened consumption of the meters like the Silver Horns of the Silver-Horned Tattoed Bears."

Esdeath answered as this was due to the fundamental nature of the Warp Storm.

The Warp is a highly volatile medium... volatile and dangerous.

At times, disturbances can turn areas of the Warp into raging storms of incomprehensibly destructive fury. These storms can last for days, months, years, or even whole centuries if one is particularly unlucky when it comes to the length of the Warp Storm.

Voidships caught in these storms, at best, might be blown off course, emerging thousands of light-years off course into uncharted areas of the galaxy, or they can find themselves trapped inside the Warp, a terrible fate for its passengers as they become playthings for the dark creatures that inhabit the malign realm.

Sometimes, a ship, after traveling through the Warp for only a short time, will emerge from the Warp and find that centuries have passed in real space. The storms also cut off Warp travel through certain regions, isolating systems from the wider galaxy for months, years, or even centuries.

Some systems have always been isolated and show no hint of becoming otherwise. Not to mention, during the Warp Storms, the barriers between the Materium and Immaterium got thinner, much thinner...

It was much easier for the Daemons of the Warp to materialize in the material plane or to possess some Psyker or other beings. When the Warp Storm enveloped some territory in space, the number of Daemon Incursions into the Realspace would skyrocket.

Particularly dangerous Warp Storms were noted during the Age of Strife, which led to the devastation of the Solar Terran Federation and the entire Old Night.

They only dissipated with the birth of Slaanesh.

Even during my stay on the Fenran Rex IX the amount of the Daemonic Incursions was much higher than it should be usually. Especially if one considers the fact that the Fenran Rex IX was just a remote frozen hellhole without any significant population.

Compared to the other worlds in the Imperium or that of the other species, which had a population in the billions or trillions, when it came to the Hive Worlds, the state of the Fenran Rex IX was too shabby.

Yet, even then, many Daemons materialized on the planet from time to time.

"Well... the Daemonic Incursions are the problem... though if we want to leave this planet in one piece, then having something that has a purification effect on the Warp would be a tremendous help."

Even the Solar Terran Federation, with all of its most advanced technology and everything that it had at its disposal, didn't have a method of safely passing through the Warp Storm without one act.

One would find the materials that had certain effects on the Warp and those of the Ruinous Powers and integrate them into the alloys from which the starship would be built. This was the best method that the Solar Terran Federation had created, and surprisingly, it worked very well.

"I will talk with my father about it."

Esdeath said as she was rather keen on leaving the planet behind and venturing into space.

For many reasons, she felt that she had reached the limit of the strength that she could achieve in her homeworld, and she wanted to reach the wider galaxy to seek opportunities to grow stronger and more powerful.

And then there was the war...

Daemons, Heretics, Astartes, Tau, Necrons...

She wanted to fight them all.

I knew that if she had the opportunity, she would fight Primarchs, Daemon Primarchs, Necron Overlords, or even Emperors or Chaos Gods themselves, most probably. I wasn't sure about the last two, as the Emperor and Chaos Gods would be pretty tough even for my True Body in fact.

Fortunately, because of the separation of the Materium and Immaterium, neither of them could reach their full potential, and they were severely restricted due to the division of the Immaterius Universe into the two fundamentally different aspects.

"How are you progressing with the construction of the starship?"

As they finished the dissection process of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear, each of us picked a piece of the corpse of the Silver-Horned Tattooed Bear as we wouldn't be leaving the corpse to rot and freeze here for nothing.

"Slowly... designing the blueprint is one thing, having knowledge another, and the means of the construction entirely something else. Right now, even with all of the STCs and my knowledge, it would take some time to produce even one starship. Unfortunately, the shipyards on the Fenran Rex IX are located in the deep south."

The construction of the starship was proven to be much more problematic than initially anticipated, but it wasn't anything that couldn't be solved over time. Right now, I need to properly assess the production capabilities of the Partas Tribe or to march south, take over the shipyard, and manufacture the starship in there.

According to the information on the Fenran Rex IX in my own databases from the times of the Solar Terran Federation, the shipyard should be capable of properly building smaller voidcrafts without many problems.

Still, going down to the south seemed an easier solution because the shipyards down there should still be untouched. They were in the top-secret facility with the highest degree of security, and with the tech that the Solar Terran Federation possessed, it should have withstood the passage of time.

Relatively speaking, of course.
